CCJ help

Hi
I am in the process of sorting out various issues on my credit file and have cleared significant amounts over the last 2 years.
I have three different CCJs on my file from 2017, 2018 and 2019. I've moved houses since the CCJs and never been chased or traced to where I've lived the last three years. Should I try and contact them to make payment or could this just drop off my credit file?
Can I damage my credit further by not making payment?
How do I actually go about making the payments/I have no idea who/where to contact as I was in such a mess at the time and it was so long ago.

The judgements will never become statute barred, as such, but after 6 years they will drop off your credit file, no matter what you do.
After that point in time, any future action by a creditor would require court approval, and reasoned argument suggests that 6 years is sufficient time in which to enforce their rights, a lot of companies never progress to enforcement of these judgements, so they just sit there till the 6 years are up.
General advice is, if you are not been chased for these accounts, then don`t do their job for them, if, or when, anyone writes to you, then deal with the matter.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Again, that's just brilliant help, thank you so, so much! They're relatively small amounts so I will just ensure I have enough to cover if contacted. You've put my mind at ease so much, thank you.0

Given the oldest will be on there until 2023 and the newest until 2025, it depends what you want to do credit wise. Most mainstream lenders will reject you for having 1 CCJ, let alone 3 and the firm could certainly argue your repeated movements without updating them is sufficient justification for enforcement when they find you. Whether you chose to not pay or to pay is up to you but once you have the CCJ it is a bit better to have it settled. Depending on what you owe, they could appoint bailiffs, or they might not per sourcrates' post1

Hi Farfetch, combined they relate to about £2k. I've only moved twice (2nd time in last 6 months)- I don't even have any emails/documentation in relation to it, how do I even try and pay them? The only info I have is essentially the reference on my credit file. Appreciate the response though 👍0

Unless you have a creditor name and account number, I would not bother, if they wanted to contact you, I`m assuming you are living in plain sight, your on the electoral role, and your credit file is kept up to date with a current address, in which case you are easily tracible, so for one reason or another, they have chosen not to chase these accounts for more than 3 years now.
That should tell you something, I stand by my original advice, don`t do anything unless or until one of them writes to you.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
