Morning all; nice and sunny here
Now back from an enjoyable weekend playing music and dancing in Dorset. Next jaunt out will be Hertfordshire on Saturday.
One load of washing done and hanging out but I see DH didn't tackle the ironing whilst I was away!
Will be crying off a pub lunch with friends today as I think I'm coming down with a cold and have almost lost my voice; it's extremely croaky. Will stay home and do some baking instead.
Have a sunny day everyone.10 -

Morning all...Sewing today, followed by the light relief of moving a minimum of three wheelbarrows of stones [ did that yesterday, completely pooped after, but it's a standard to aim for
] met a lovely man who came and dug up a hebe, so obviously, being someone who enjoys gardening, I foisted more plants on him and he didn't complain!
I was having a couldn't remember words day and at one point I told him that west was north so he probably thought I was an idiot. Got rid of a planter full of crocosmia, a couple of bamboo and a something else I can't remember. Now I have a space for my rose....or blackcurrants..
Camelot, same, i have to find places to put them or I feel guilty at putting them in the compost binIzzy, can't help, but will do a bit of sideline cheerleadng for you...Gers, happy new member of the family day
Ruby, that's a new to try, sounds nice.. Scarlet, hope he gets well soon..snoozer, good luck with appointment..Coxy, no judgement here...Break a leg ds2. mehefin, good luck with pony. nanny, good idea re stones, will see how far the ones i have will stretch. Have a good day folks if you can...

nmlc thank you, I hope you have a good work day. Poppy good to "see you" Coxy pleased that you survived the day and enjoyed the garden. Mehfin fingers crossed for you about the pony. Snoozer hope all goes well at the hospital. TA I need to do some outside stuff too if not too gusty out there. Scarlett a lapful of small Spaniel sounds just the thing. Ruby great to have a lovely group to look forward to, particularly on a Monday. Nelski your meals always sound so tasty. Gers lovely news about the new arrival, hope travelling and dentist trouble free. Camelot good that you can utilise your bus pass to get to and from work.
Tested firmly positive yesterday, but fainter line today, fingers crossed for the next day or so. I have shopping booked for Wednesday, but it is a fixed slot and cannot change it and I am running out of a few things. Kind friends have picked up a couple of things for us, but not urgent enough to ask anyone to make a special journey.
Have a good day all.The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)12 -
Morning everyone
I was up late today as I'm feeling very tired and achy - though I've had an extremely lazy weekend.
Little one came up for lunch yesterday while DD went to the supermarket - from one of her library books she has learnt that astronauts use oxygen - she is fascinated by this and has very long conversations about how she has oxygen just the same! It's lovely how interested in everything she is.
I had jobs to do in the garden but it was far too windy so I had a lovely afternoon reading instead, then down to DDs for tea. She made a lovely roast beef dinner - it was so tasty. Little one grumbled throughout that she didn't like it - it took me right back to eldest DD at the same age - she was awful at mealtimes. Youngest DD on the other hand would try anything.
Had a nice chat to eldest DD while I was in the bath and she was at Stanstead Airport! She spent the weekend at Brighton, with the girls she shared a house with at uni. She said they all want to get married and have babies whereas she just wants to go on as many holidays as she can!
Bedding is almost finished so I'll get that hung outside. Thankfully the wind has dropped a bit this morning. Then just pottering till I go to work at 11.30.
Oh I got a nice surprise when I got my water statement - £100 creditted to my account from when we were without water last year - I've got a refund of £83 so that can go into my holiday fund.
Hope everyone has a good day today x

Morning all, we have part cloud part sun but it's dry so that'll do.
I had a good day with Dad yesterday, he was on his best behaviour and even thanked me for having him ! He went home happy with a carrier bag full of dinners, sandwiches, sausage rolls, cake and a box of sweeteners. On helping him down my steps when he went home I noticed that the other side of me is now up for sale too, could it be something I said ? 😂
Today I need to do something about the meadow lawn at the back of the house as I'm ashamed to see it that long. Dad did comment I should rent a sheep or use a scythe but as I have neither I'll have to use the strimmer and the mower. It's going to be a tough job so I think we'll have to take it in turns on the electricals as neither of us is fighting fit still.
Tea today will be a salmon portion for me with some leftover jersey royals and salad, himself will have some of the lo roast pork with chips or wedgies. There is some yoghurt to use up so we'll have that with a fresh fruit salad for pud.
Gers congrats on the new addition to the family.
Snoozer fingers crossed for the hospital visit today.
Mehefin fingers crossed for the pony
Poppy Hi, nice to see you.
Coxy my sympathies re your Mum, my Dad can be the same. He has told strangers that he has no help now my Mum has gone...... and I'm standing next to him 😒
Apologies to anyone I have forgotten to mention.
I must make a start on that lawn, I can't procrastinate about the garden any longer 🤔
Take care all, hugs to anyone in need.
nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently12 -
We bought him. Hasten to add that it's not me on board

poppy811 said:Just popping in to say hello. I do read every day but not much news to report.
Congratulations on the new arrival, Gers, and well done on the sorting/clearing.
Good luck with your house clearing efforts, Nels - it will be a hard slog (ask me how I know).
Good news on your delivery TA - I hope mine tomorrow is as satisfactory but I doubt it as I've marked a fair few items as "no substitute". I know they do their best to fulfil orders but I sometimes wonder at some of the things they send to replace out of stock items!
Best wishes to those with eye/dental appointments, I hope all goes well.
The weather here today is a mix of cloud and an occasional (brief) appearance by the sun but it's really neither one thing nor the other. Promises of better to come later in the week - we'll see.
We're having a salmon salad tonight and there could be a few strange additions to the plate to use up some odds and ends. Never mind, it all goes down the same way.Towels washed and hung out to dry but I think they may need finishing off on the airer overnight. Other than that, it's just gentle pottering today.
Stay safe, get well wishes to those with colds and Covid. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.7 -
