Hi,
I was wondering if anyone is currently going through the right to acquire process with housing association (as I am).. has the recent announcement made you think it might be worth not proceeding until we know more about the PM proposal of RTB? Or on balance have you decided to carry on with RTA? Thanks

Might as well carry on as long as you are not committed.
The new scheme will turn out to be rubbish in some way. That might mean it's extremely lucrative for you, or it might not.
Worst case your HA discontinues the current scheme and the new one is worse, so handy to have it already set up.0 -
Your choice. Depends on the potential discount available to you and how long before anything happens with what I assume is the VRTB. How difficult is it to postpone the RTA purchase then restart it at a later date?

Massive risk. You'll be kicking yourself if you miss out on the bumper discount. Wait and see what the details are first0

I am a HA tenant but our house slightly too old for the RTA. I have been waiting for the RTB to be rolled out for 7 years, so it jolly well better happen as we will get max discount as been a tenant for almost 35 yrs.
If i was in your shoes and the discount difference is a lot, then pull out and wait. Depends on your age i guess to, i am 52, so time ticking as want a short term mortgage. Just don't want to be paying rent of £700 when we are only living off pensions.
Just hope the legislation is all sorted out soon!
All the best.0
