Internet connection problem with Kindle Fire HD 10

Ok people this is going to be a long one but I'm stumped

I have a Kindle Fire HD10 (my wife's actuall)which happily connects to my Vodafone router but wont connect to the internet - it connects at 2.4gHz because it can't see the 5gHz (the router uses channel 104 which appears to be a problem for the Kindle Fire? - there doesn't seem to be anyway to change the router channel)

It also connects to a TP-Link Powerline Wifi extender, (2.4gHz) but only randomly connects to the internet, although it used to be fairly solid

The Vodafone router has a guest channel which the Fire can see but wont authenticate

However I've got an iBoost D8 wifi booster in my caravan some 15 metres from the house which connects wirelessly to the Vodaphone router and sets up it's own network . The Kindle connects to it and can see the internet without any problems (even 20metres away inside the house - it's a bit of a solution but not everso good and the speed is quite slow due to the distance (25mbit's inside the van) but around 2 indoors.

What is going on - everything else, surveillance cameras, smart plugs, computers, phones, kindle readers, tablets etc all connect and communicate with the internet. without any problems.

Any help or suggestions would be gratefully received. A trawl of t'interweb shows that it's not an isolated problem but no one seems to have come up with a solution except to reboot the router, reset the Kindle, deleting and re-establishing the connection etc.

We've tried those and as the Fire is now around seven years old we've decided to bite the bullet and replace it but not with another Fire - the Samsung Galaxy A8 with a10.4" screen looks like a good buy for around the same price as the Fire and it's not tied into Amazon like the Fire is, which give a bit more scope for apps from Google Playstore

But only when you can connect to t'interweb!

Had similar problem with 8HD that was just resolved with a tablet reboot so I guess that is no help whatsoever!

Reading through the info in the link gefnew provided it struck me that there might be on solution (in the comments from users). If you have not tried this one then it might be worth a go....though clutching at strawa a bit it seems more possible to me!

"I had this issue on a Kindle Paperwhite 10th Gen.  Connects to WIFI but cannot reach internet.
After many reboots and factory resets I checked my router.
DHCP had assigned 192.168.0.100 to the Kindle and that showed in the client list with the Kindles MAC address.
When I checked the IP and MAC Bindings, it showed the above IP address bound to a different MAC address.
I deleted that binding and it works find again."

Maybe worth a check if not already done?
