Happy 80th to Coxy's DM - hope that the garden party went well.TA - how's your DD now? No lingering after effects of the crash?Snoozer - are you getting used to the automatic car?Nan - I gave up on flannelette sheets as they were really too warm and I seemed to stick to them with my cotton pjs.
Anyone want a hardly used double set?
DP1 - the wind is high here again today too, yesterday was awful.Sunfl0w3r - congrats on your new patio, I'm sure you'll make good use of it.Camelot - you're so brave!Izzy - I had my gilet on yesterday too. Madness.I cleared out a load of DM's things from the bed - well, put them into piles - and took away a load of paperwork to read and then either scan and burn or simply burn. I've also got another large padded envelope of things to send across to my Berlin cousin. I'm not sure he'll thank me for them but he's the obvious person to have them. There's a series of reproductions of old Berlin, A4 folded in fours (A2?), a German textbook my DM wrote and some drawings done by our Grandmother when she was an adolescent. I have plenty of her embroidery and paintings to keep me going.Recklessly I did a quick small wash which is now hanging outside - we're having showers here so I'm keeping a close eye on the outside. There's lots of documents I want to scan so I'll start to tackle them soon.9 -
Gers, yes I love it. We did used to have an automatic which I also loved and I have told Steve we will get an automatic when we change the present car which I don't like.
I have been deep cleaning the kitchen because it was looking decidedly grubby in places, I think because I've been leaving the evening clean up to the men because I have been doing the cooking, neither one seems to clean behind the sink! It's looking a lot better now.
We went to the town carnival yesterday afternoon, Esben had great fun sitting in the fire engine and using the hose to knock down wooden flames. It's a long time since I saw the price of a funfair ride and they seem wincingly expensive to me.
We had a barbecue last night so I shall do the planned enchiladas tonight.
Have a good day.8 -
Afternoon folks and thanks GERS for asking about DD. She's had a week off work as her legs and chest were quite painful and badly bruised. They got worse before starting to feel better. A combination of the crash and the airbag pressing into her. She's back in work tomorrow but only for the one day so will then have a couple more days to recover. Fortunately both girls were fine once they got over the shock of it. The damaged car got picked up on Wednesday (quicker than expected) so she is hoping the assessment will be quicker too and then she has an answer as to what's next.
My email from Tes*o tells me I have 3 subs which are all acceptable and to my benefit so I'm now awaiting the delivery. The fridge is ready and waiting. I have never seen it looking so bare, even the salad drawer is empty!

Just a quickie from Mehefinland..
Scoobymare is recovered and sound..Mrs M rode her this a.m. so she is happy.
Going to see a pony tomorrow - been waiting a long time for this. Hopefully it will be 'the one'.
Ash trees down and now comes the fun bit of cutting them up for logs. I counted the rings on one of the stumps and gave up at 100.. Sad to see them go but a necessary evil. Ash die back is decimating the treescape around here
Hugs and spoons as always
