My weekend treat of coffee in bed is so enjoyable, it still feels like a luxury even if I have to make it myself. The awful rain from yesterday has almost gone, it's stopped for now. I was so cold I put on more layers again and eventually ended up with the electric throw over me. So much for flaming June. I did some more work on the guest bedroom so there's not much left to tackle, today could be the day. Yesterday I got waylaid by Band Wagon and High Society. As my fridge is now bare (apart from mustard, wine and wee tins of tonic water) I raided the freezer, found some cooked sausages and riced cauliflower. I'm not sure that they go together normally but I'll make a sort of stir fry with them, adding in my favourite peas and my not so favourite carrots from the freezer too. Here's hoping for a better day today. Hugs to our poorlies. Happy Sunday to all.10

Morning All
Marginally better than yesterday, just not so windy. Still wet though so the bedding will have to stay on the pulley. I've re-made the bed already, hate going to bed and discovering I didn't do it!
After a bit of shopping yesterday I did nothing apart from reading and having a snooze, the weather wasn't very inspiring at all. I did swap some summer and winter clothes over in the wardrobe but I think I'll have to get the winter stuff back out it's so cold. The fire was lit around 4pm, I'll have to order more coal if it doesn't warm up.
There's nothing planned for today, apart from going for a chilly dip this morning, I'll see how the day goes. May have a look at the material stash to see if I can make some bunting for the greenhouse.
Hope you all have a peaceful Sunday, take care. XX9 -
Good morning,
Dry and bright here, I have a fully functioning patio although both cats 🐈 tried to leave pawprints on it. They were not impressed when they ended up locked in the house 😁
I think I'll go for a walk this morning while it's still dry, then start putting things back on the patio.
Smoked salmon and salad for dinner as I had a cheeky pizza 🍕 yesterday, it was delicious 😋
Have as good a day as you can 🌻9 -

Morning all,
Bright and sunny here. It's DMum's 80th bday today so we are having afternoon tea in DSis's garden. Will need to leave here around midday to help set up. I've hurt my back, probably due to standing up all day yesterday baking choc fudge brownie bites, mini pavlovas and cheese pinwheels. Lots of other goodies will also be eaten, so back on the wagon tomorrow.
Have a good day everyone,

Morning all
The wind id still blowing wildy here - it hasn't stopped since Friday - everything in the garden is getting so bashed.
Most annoyingly it was warm and sunny yesterday but far too wild to venture outside...until last night when we had torrential rain!
I have lots of little jobs I could do in the garden so I'm hoping it calms down a bit.
Will go down to mam and dads this morning for a cuppa - I need to order a new battery for his laptop as his isn't holding a charge at all and just switches off if the wire gets knocked, then he can't switch it back on again. He's only using it to listen to books now and his morning carer leaves it ready so he just has to press play.
I'd hate to end up unable to read one day...
Right I'm going to wash up, then hoover ...then I'll get ready to go out.
Hope everyone has a good day today x9 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS for the quick start. I don't know where this morning has gone, I haven't stopped since I got up with one job leading to another. I am having a coffee break now!
I have stopped believing the weather forecasts! We keep getting nice sunny days promised and day after day we get lots of cloud and that nithering wind never drops! My DF down in the valley bottom got heavy rain yesterday afternoon and we didn't get a drop - until last night. Weird weather.
I did a towel wash this morning, there seemed to finally be enough to warrant putting the wm on. They should dry in this wind. I have some lentil and bacon soup on the go which I will have with my lunchtime sarnies this coming week. I made a pan of shepherd's pie base yesterday and one of those has been left out for my lunch today - just some mash to add which is currently defrosting and my last carrot to peel.
I have a Tes*o delivery due this afternoon and my fingers are crossed that it will be like last time with nothing oos or subbed. And not the time before when it was cancelled at the last minute due to "store issues" The fridge, fruit bowl and veg box are all totally empty so I might cry if it's cancelled! I am still awaiting the email telling me what's in and what isn't!! I usually get it by mid morning.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, poorly loved ones and MIA. Happy Birthday to your DM COXY. Enjoy your lovely family day. Take care folks and be safe xx

Hello all, we had a lovely sunny day yesterday and today has started off the same, it's 16 degrees already. Sorry to those with the cold, damp and/or rain, I'll try to waft some better weather your way for tomorrow. I haven't resorted to swapping over to summer clothes yet but I have put away the flannelette sheets and I am now using my cotton ones, it feels much easier to sleep now, no more hot/cold nights.
Nothing much to report for today except I have put the dw on which should have been done last night but I forgot. It was filled and the tablet put in but I forgot to press the button, I have a head like a sieve nowadays. Dad is coming over for the day, it will be the first time we've seen each other for about a month, we have spoken via the phone every other day though. We are having the pork loin joint he left here with roasties, green beans, peas and carrots and gravy. Tea will be a selection of sandwiches followed by a lemon swiss roll.
I didn't finish my jigsaw yesterday which is quite frustrating, I'll be glad when it's done it now so I'll do a bit more of it before I do the veg prep, plus I spied another brand new one in my jigsaw cupboard yesterday 😉
Coxy happy birthday to your Mum, hope you enjoy your tea but take it easy with your hurt back.
Scarlet perhaps we could all get a lap dog/cat come winter, they'd make good hot water bottles !
Hugs to all the poorly ones, the MIA's and anyone struggling with daily life
Take care all

Good morning all, still very windy here too, too rough to brave the garden or a short walk yesterday. Done a pile of shredding and loaded WC, it's built up while we have been crook. Both gradually improving and I will do a test shortly. I will be limited today by very painful hands, but need to do some foodie things.
Happy birthday to Coxy's DM and ouch to the sore back.
TA fingers crossed for the SM order.
Hugs and spoons to all, have the best day you can.The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)7
