Quote for concrete base for garden shed

Hello I've just received a quotation (below) for a concrete shed base. The shed measures 13 x 7' and needs a strong base as it's going to be heavy. I have had several large trees and stumps removed from the area where the shed will be placed.
To allow for the excavation of the area. Soil to be retained on site for later use. To use hardcore and aggregate to create a sub-base, compacted. Then mix and lay concrete to create a level base ready for the shed. We estimate 2 days for this work to be carried
out. Remove all waste from site and leave area clean and tidy. The cost for the above works £1,695.00
I would be very grateful if any builders or diy experts out there could indicate if this is a fair quote. My shed is bespoke and will be ready in a few weeks so I need the base done asap. The builder (recommended) would be able to complete the work in the timescale I need. Thanks in advance.

Doesn't sound too bad depending on how much is being dug out and the thickness of hardcore & concrete.Ideally, you want at least 100mm of hardcore (either MOT1 or crushed rubble/concrete) with 50mm of concrete on top.Her courage will change the world.
Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.1 -

Ask:
How deep.
What is being used for sub-base (some cowboys use rubble)
How thick the concrete is on the sub base
When will they start and when finish
Do not pay up front
See quote inc vAT as some cowboys not even registered !!!!!! it later.
Do your research on the outfit and see reviews not just about their general work but type of work you are getting done.
Ask who will be leading the job and start and finish times.
If you have a nice garden etc, be clear you dont want grass murdered or paths and grass massively stained with concrete etc.
Ask when skip will be removed if they are using one

Btw, see if they are insured just in case they dig/hit a pipe etc.1

You certainly do need to ask these questions. A reputable & conscientious builder won't mind answering. Depending on the answers, you'll know if it is going to be a bodge job or not. For that size base, check to see if he plans on mixing the concrete on site or is having a ready-mix delivered. Ready-mix will be a lot quicker, all be it a little more expensive.diystarter7 said: What is being used for sub-base (some cowboys use rubble)

Thank you for all the replies so far. You have been very helpful. I have spoken to another local groundworker who gave me lots of advice as well but unfortunately could not fit he job in until the end of the year.0
