JET2 holidays … Twilight Bag Drop

Due to fly first week of July and Hays Travel recommended the JET2 Holidays twilight bag drop up to 9pm the previous day (flying at 6am).
I’d heard reports this didn’t help much as queues to bag drop were still huge but of course things can change at short notice.
Anyone have experience of this and whether it’s worth it? I think it’s a free to drop early but needs to be booked and of would need an overnight hotel stay to make it viable.
Many thanks.

Have done it pre covid and it was brilliant.  No one in the Jet2 check in hall at Leeds Bradford at 7pm the evening before,  Bags dropped, boarding passes given.

Gave us an extra hour in bed next day as we arrived two hours before the flight.  Hundreds of people waiting to check luggage in, we were straight to security and were in the lounge within 15 minutes.

I wouldn't do it if it meant having to book a hotel room to stay over, unless that was always part of plan due to a very early flight.

Thank you … that’s great to hear. Hotel booking wasn’t planned originally but means we can start the hols a little earlier!

But of course it's a far less stressful experience queueing to drop bags when you're not constrained by an imminent flight departure, tapping your feet while staring repeatedly at your watch!

Twilight bag drop only really works if you either live close enough to the airport for it to be a quick round trip, or you are prepared to suck up the overnight hotel cost.  We live 60 miles from the airport so the round trip plus parking cost would be considerable.  Cost of 2 hotel rooms would be even worse.

Their Twilight check-in has been pretty busy so I would try and get there early
It opens at 3pm and shuts at 8pm
I know someone who started queuing at 5.30pm the other day didn't get checked in
But as above its a great service and takes a lot of stress away

9pm from Sunday (from your link), so that'll be the relevant time for OP next month....

We walked through MAN T2 at the beginning of May around 6pm and the place was pretty well deserted - didn't really notice any check in desks as it wasn't really on my radar, sorry!

Have used both the TUI and Jet2 sunset/twilight check ins.  Due to the lack of destinations from our local airport we usually have to fly down to London the day before so a stay in a hotel is the norm for us. Checking-in the night before gives a nice leisurely start to the next day.
