Scottish Power issue with Gen 1 Smart Meters
We have been trying hard to control our spending. Lots of reasons why but basically we have gone down smart meter route ages ago and we have our screen sat prominently in our kitchen.
We had always done fixed rates and gotten best deals we could although Scottish Power had been great and great customer service so was reluctant to move away to be honest.
However, Since coming off the fix at the end of February we were really aware something wasnt quite right.
On investigation we have found out that our Meter and our Indoor monitor says one figure per KWH and we are being charged differently.
We contacted SP who said well we can see it so not a problem. We are saying yes it is - we want to budget and we want it to read the right figures.
SP have basically not known what to do. We have tried getting them to flash the meter but it still hasnt worked. It shows a different standing charge and different rate too.
Yes we could go online and research it that way but why cant the monitor and the actual meter read the correct numbers.
Yesterday we were informed that it is because it is a Gen 1 meter and it cant be put right so we asked for the meter to be changed so that it is accurate. The metering dept have said NO.
Do any other SP customers have the same issue with their meters?
Have they sought help to fix the issue?
