Morning...I did the right thing yesterday and knuckled down to sewing. Honestly, if you had to wait for me to make you something, you'd have time to do a degree...I mocked up a sleeve and luckily, she was just round the corner from me so came and gave it a try. Verdict, sleeve fitted but more oomph needed at the top of the shoulder. Today I'm going shopping for provisions to make a cake for OHs dad [it'sactually his sdad, but I can't remember to say that all the time so I just say dad] He loves a lemon drizzle but OHs mum wants to vomit on smelling lemons...I'll do two loaf tins, he can put one in the freezer. And I think I wil start shifting stones. I need to think about colour combinations in the sleeve, I have six pieces of fabric to mix and match for them. I think I need lessons in drafting patterns.TA,well, I'm sure anyone in their right mind would have gone for pie and chips
I know I would...Gers, changing from ym dyed colour to a more natural one took quote a few months but one thing I did like was the highlights/lowlights stage. Be strong! Hair grows! Nels, that's just carp isn't it...COxy, oh no! only one cup of tea! Maybe sew some secret pockets in your clothes and stash some for emegencies....:) WL, good to hear the larder is picking up...Rosy, I don't get why they do that, it's a game fgs...nanny, freezer surprise strikes again!
snoozer, good luck with the washing...Hugs for all, sanatogen for the lingering poorly...

Morning everyone
Brighter today - it was wet and foggy all day yesterday - last night I was so chilly I had a blanket on while I was watching TV.
I went to our nearest garden centre after work with DD and little one - she wanted plants to go in some pots she has already - I said I'd go down and do them for her later in exchange for my tea! She's done a lot of work in her garden and has got it looking tidy, but it's a very big garden for someone who has absolutely no interest in gardening.
Working afternoons for just the 3 hours is exhausting me but I'm determined to carry on in the hope of feeling better soon! I do very little in the mornings before I go to try to save my energy but it doesn't seem to make much difference.
Supposed to get out nice and sunny today and then be nice for the next week - fingers crossed.
Gers - I'm a very un hairdressy sort of person if you know what I mean. I have to have my short hair cut every 6 to 8 weeks as it goes bushy and dye it myself to cover up the white. I've only once had a colour done at the hairdressers and couldn't believe how long it took!
Well better move myself - I have a long form to fill in.
Hope everyone has a good day and some sunshine x9 -
Good morning all, thank you nmlc for the new thread. Alternating between sunshine and deep cloud, loads of washing needing drying too.
Feeling constrained by being at home and missing conversation (OH is lovely, but I would like a change LOL) He tested negative again yesterday, but has the appearance of a stinking cold today, I will put my nurses head on and coddle him a little, I am practical, but don't deal with the little boy aspect very well, however, he is not as bad as many I have met.
Looked out some curry recipes and will have a batch cook of a couple of different ones.
Have the best day possible. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)9 -
Hello all from a very wet S Wales. Yesterday turned out to be sunny and hot and the forecasted rain didn't start until last night so I was able to sit out in the sun with my gardening books in the afternoon. Lunch yesterday was delicious as always so I had the fish and chips this time and Mr Fix It had the HM curry, shame I was only able to eat about 4 chips because my fish was enormous. I bought some local ale for Dad for fathers day and Mr Fix It bought me 2 huge deep red geraniums. I will pot them up in my unused water barrel fountain which I've kept as I didn't want to throw out but I'll have to get Mr Fix It to put some drainage holes in the bottom first.
Joan's house next door is up for sale so we'll be having new neighbours. It needs a lot of work done as it's a bit of a doer upper now so there'll be a lot of noisy building work being done too. I will put a note through my neighbours door when it stops raining as she asked me to let her know about Joan's as her son was looking for a house in this road. I have a sm delivery arriving this morning with 2 OOS and quite a few subs.
I didn't sleep very well last night as I found it very hot despite having the front and back windows open so I may need a nana nap this afternoon.
Take care and hugs to all
nan xx

Hi everyone,
Just me and the cleaner in the house atm. Brian has taken Esben to nursery via the Dr, Steve is golfing and Laura is at College, she's on the home stretch now, thank goodness, by the end of the month she should have her degree and be a fully fledged acupuncture practitioner. She has to do a certain number of clinic days and she still has to catch up on a couple from having covid and now the college have cancelled one because of the train strikes so she has to find time to fit it in. It might mean her doing a double shift one Thursday which isn't good when she is pregnant.
Brian took Esben to the Dr to have his ears checked again, he is saying What a lot and yesterday he complained about a noise in his left ear. I was trying to get more info and was asking if it was buzzing or whistling and he said no. Then he said it was like a super hero and started whooshing round the room. I thought that was a great description and apparently he went into the surgery and said "Dr I've got a superhero in my ear".
I finished the holiday washing taff, but I've got another load in now, hopefully it will be back to normal proportions. I'm going to pull some weeds now, hopefully do a bit of sewing this afternoon and then make mushroom stroganoff for dinner.
Have a good day.11 -
