Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Now light and raining steadily - lots of laying water - it's obviously been raining from sometime during the night.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was chicken, rice and pasta in sauce for the menfolk. I had fish and veg. Not sure about tonight. Will sort later.
Yesterday work was ok, will see how today goes.
Keep safe and well x

Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC.It's a cloudyish start here, don't know which way it'll go. Yesterday suddenly turned hot and sunny in the late morning, I felt a bit daft in my padded coat, but when I left the house it was wet and miserable,Hope you had a good day out yesterday TA.We went out for lunch with Dd , and very nice it was, a very pleasant change.Dgs is coming today, I hope it stays fine then we can go outside, and he'll not be rampaging round the house. That's about it, nothing else planned.Thinking of our poorly and sad people, take care folks. While I'm typing this the sky is getting darker and darker, surely not more rain.14

Good morning folks, thanks for starting us off nmlc.Yesterday the weather was rather wet without there being real rain. Today looks set for the same. I did a lot of clearing the guest bed, just making a real start made me feel better about it - facing my fears I suppose.Once downstairs I dealt with the small pile of papers, scanned them into my laptop and then did a backup. I also wrote a couple of cards ready to give to the postie. He was delighted with the box of assorted cables / chargers I handed over. There's still some work to be done in the room but it's not overwhelming me anymore.Today I'm off down the peninsula to my hairdresser. After nearly 40 odd years I decided to have some highlights done in August, just before my big trip, and then got semi-cold feet. What if I hated it or it looked wrong? So, I'm having a trial run now, that'll give me enough time to get used to the look or decide that it's not for me. I'm rather nervous as I don't normally put anything on my hair or even blow dry it. To help spend the time I've downloaded a new audio book.My thoughts are with all our poorlies and those struggling with life. Happy Thursday to everybody.13

Morning All
Very overcast and damp this morning, it rained all day yesterday, just a dry 5 minutes around lunchtime. I couldn't play outside with the pressure washer yesterday so at least the living room had a bit of attention! Washing on the pulley, seems ages since I used it.
Haircut after work thank goodness, it's getting a bit out of control, may have a good summer cut this time.
Hope the poorlies are recovering well and everyone has a good day. Take care. XX13 -
Morning all
Bright and sunny here after another day of heavy rain yesterday, last working day of the week for me and it the three lads today good fun but exhausting, roll on 4.30 !
I need to get some pork chops out of the freezer after this, we will have them with some sw chips and peas for dinner, I seem to be stuck on a 12lb loss but I am determined to lose another bit before my holiday so will keep going.
DW to empty this morning and I will see if there is enough for a wash to go on.
Gers Im sure the highlights will look lovely, I had some a few years ago and they really did look good, they covered the (then) few gray hairs I had, they have grown out now but I did enjoy them.
Have good days all xxx11 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. Not a bad forecast for us today. No rain but sadly sun in short supply too. Oh well can't have everything!
Yesterday we didn't get the forecast rain either and it was very pleasant wandering round the cs and market stalls in Skipton. We didn't go to the Italian restaurant after all as we ended up for a pub lunch in the place we used to eat in a lot in the early days of our trips. We were both tempted by the steak in ale pie and chips (with a little jug of gravy) it was yummy! Another lucky find there in one of the cs was a pair of brand new comfy sandals for £4.
So after a few days skiving today I am grounded and neglected jobs await. I'm sure I was destined to be a lady of leisure, I wonder what went wrong?!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, poorly loved ones and MIA. Take care one and all and be safe xx

Morning
Back to being a gorgeous day today blue sky and sun streaming in the back of the house. Much better than yesterdays persisting it down all day
Mum visit today accompanied by the social worker. They want to assess if shes in the right place. Kinda annoys me as they are contributing nothing to care now and clearly just want to get her off the books.
Made a large chilli yesterday so there's plenty left for tonight and a fair bit for the freezer. Asda delivery soon which is very hit and miss atm for OOS/subs hoping its a good day. Last week my £45 came down to £20 by the time the subs I didn't want were taken off. Great for budgeting but bad for meal planning.mind you I'm forced to use my own stock which is good but not long term.
Have a good day everyone, nan good to see you posting. Hope you and Mr F are taking it easy x

Good morning all and thanks for the start nmlc
I didn’t manage to get on yesterday so thanks to everyone for our anniversary wishes. We had a nice late lunch with DSis, DBIL and DMum.
I was in the London office yesterday and realised when I arrived that I only had one teabag to last me all day! Had to buy a cup of tea from one of the coffee shops - £2.50! Have now refilled the little pot for next week. Such a pain having to cart everything in but we have no lockers at the moment.
Today I’m WFH. It’s busy as there’s a smoking report out today which our department pulled together. I was invited to the launch but it’s midday at Westminster and I could do without travelling just for that.
I left a factual review for the IOW hotel last night. Still getting over the £260/night room only tariff with breakfast at £10 extra each. Just ridiculous.
Happy new hair day @Gers
Hope the visit to DMum goes well @Nelski x
Belated happy birthday wishes to @nannywindow x Hope you’re feeling brighter.
Have a good day everyone,
Coxy

Morning all; bright and sunny here so far.
Yesterday's Community Larder was better attended and we had a few new people sign up. There was a greater choice of food but still with plenty of fresh produce left to take to the Community Fridge, which is a car drive away.
Today we are going to the City Centre as DH needs to look at a suit for DD's wedding later in the year. The groom has sent his wedding party a link to the suit so we'll see if there's one in stock to try on for sizing etc. My outfit is hanging up in the spare room and I just need to ensure it still fits come September!
Enjoy the sunshine everyone.11 -
Morning from a dull and wet mehefinland
Well the tree surgeon messed up the dates and didn't come yesterday, and has cried off today as we have high winds coming across the Atlantic apparently. As he will be hanging off a cherry picker overhanging next doors cottage I can understand his reluctance! Perhaps tomorrow now. Its costing an arm and a leg so it needs to be done properly and safely. Besides, it would cost a darn sight more if the tree was to fall on the cottage.
Girls are not happy as they are confined to a small part of the field behind an electric fence. Fairypony MOST put out. Scoobymare more interested in eating and going ooh-me on her poorly leg.. Size 1 nappies are great as poultices - they just fit nicely!
Got a whole load of plants from an outlet on our local trading estate - they were selling them off at 3 for a £1. So I got a load for the library plant sale next week - they were all looking a little bedraggled but a good soak has helped and they are perking up a bit now.
Mrs M annoyed at me as I didn't follow up on a horse for sale locally which might have fitted the bill... its been sold so I got the teenage sulks last night. Told her to grow up and got a tirade back. It will sort itself out and normal service will be resumed shortly.lol. We have enquiries out on a few but no responses. And vendors moan about buyers being time-wasters Grr.
Oh well, thats it for now. Hugs and Spoons as always
Mehefin
