Opening another Santander current account - straightforward ?

Hi all,

Santander has been my  " main " bank for donkeys years now, at present have a 123 Lite current account, and  an Everyday current account ( joint account with wife )
Considering opening another Everyday current account, which i would use for switching purposes, once i have transferred a couple of D/Ds over to it.
Could i do this all online and is it relatively straight forward ?

Last year both me and my wife switched accounts to Santander for bonuses with very little effort. We now have one joint and five single accounts.

Easiest to find out is just applying for another Everyday account.

I did this during the last Santander switch offer - it is very easy to do. Application was quick and the account was opened and visible on online banking immediately. Once opened, you can set up your DDs and have it ready to switch as/when a suitable offer comes around.

Yes, there was a hard search for the second account.
