Looking for a budgeting program for UK accounts

Up to now (probably 20+ years) I have used Microsoft money (UK version) but I can no longer load it onto the new laptop and have reluctantly decided to try and find another program to use - and I'd be grateful for advice from users of alternative programs - really very simple - keeping track of bank a/cs and credit card - and the simpler the better!
Any experiences would be appreciated.

AceMoney for me, it's not free but has a 15 day money back guarantee. You should be able to import your MSM data. I've used it for 10 years and couldn't live without it

I second the nomination of AceMoney. I've had it for about 15 years, and am very happy with it.

If you want a free one, you might take a look at MoneyManager Ex.

What's the reason why you can't load it? If your laptop has Windows Money works with every version as far as I'm aware, I've certainly used it with XP, 7, 8.1, 10 and 11 with no problem.

What version of Microsoft Money are you using? I use Microsoft Money 2004 on a Windows 11 laptop and desktop as well as a Windows 10 laptop and desktop and it loads without a problem on all 4 computers.

There was a problem using Microsoft Money when Windows 10 first came out back in July 2015 where Microsoft Money wouldn't load. An error message stating "Money requires Internet Explorer 6 to function properly. Please reinstall Internet Explorer 6 so these components can be added." would pop up. The problem was solved by a simple registry change. However that was back in 2015 and the problem was eventually sorted out anyway by Microsoft adding in the registry change to subsequent Windows 10 updates.
