Smart meter causing wrong bills.

Can anyone give any info on smart meters? I had mine fitted in 2019 and since nothing but hassle. Theyhve now said my bill is well more than normal due to faulty readings. I refuse to pay for the debt its there mistake but need to carry on paying for current usage?? Any advice appreciated

What do you mean with faulty readings?

Do you mean they were using estimates instead of using real readings and you have received a catch-up bill?

What is the latest meter reading they have in their bill and what is your current reading?

If you have received a catch-up bill because they underestimated your use you might need to pay for the energy you used. With a bit of luck only for the last 12 month.
