Morning all, didn't get chance to post yesterday, I was minding DGS & he took over my laptop as I'd forgotten to charge the ipad he usually uses here! His hayfever was bad and he seemed tired all day.I did persuade him to go out for a bit-he didn't want the park so we walked down the steps at the front and walked through the woods by the stream & he climbed some trees. He had a friendly football match later, DS picked him up and he fell asleep for half an hour,& was raring to go after. They won by a good margin but the opposing coach sat his boys down after and had a real rant at them, felt sorry for them. Wouldn't be surprised if there's an official complaint goes in, no way would we let them play for someone like that, our coach is a gem.My fridge is nearly empty, I couldn't get a delivery slot until tomorrow & I'll have to make a loaf- no bread left.Salmon for tea tonight, meant for last night but DH/DS busy and just wanted a sandwich, mind you a couple of you have mentioned chilli, might make a big batch and freeze some, got plenty mince in the freezer.I hope the poorly ones start to feel better soon.Taff- DH loves flight radarBack to school pick ups today, take care all. x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Hello all, thanks for the warm welcome back and yes I shall take things easy, I have to as my energy seems to has gone on holiday without me ! Most of the washing dried yesterday and a couple of thick items had to go on the airer overnight, but they are dry this morning so I will put them away later. The weather yesterday was weird, it was very warm, overcast and with not a breath of wind, today it's sunny and windy but there's some rain forecast for later.
The freezer tidying didn't take long yesterday and now they are looking even more empty but I have a sm delivery tomorrow with lots of food arriving, I hope. I found a tub of curry in the freezer tidy yesterday which has been defrosting overnight but it turns out it's spag bol sauce so we'll have that with pasta tomorrow as today Mr Fix It is taking me out to lunch for a belated birthday treat as I too missed my proper birthday last weekend.
Scarlet sorry your DD missed her birthday too. Have a lovely meal out.
Coxy happy belated anniversary.
Hope everyone can have a good day.
Take care all, hugs to anyone in need and the poorly ones.

The task is being made slower by me reading everything I come across. So far it's been a birthday book I had compiled for my DM for her 75th in 2003 (fascinating), her memoirs (equally fascinating), my final thesis for my post-grad degree (maybe not so fascinating), DM's hand written recipe book (memories) and a sheaf of guidebooks and leaflets about Orkney. I've also pulled out a box of assorted cables which I'll give to my postie who is very techie, he distributes all excess IT stuff around the local area and helps those who struggle with it all.The back has been broken of the stuff and various bags are being filled. I've said 'goodbye' to two very old and loved handbags which are too old and worn out to even give to a CS, I must remember the pleasure they gave me rather than the sadness of them being chucked out!Rain is still falling though very half-heartedly, it's more of a smirr, and it's fairly mild outside so I have the front door open again. Yesterday I had both front and back doors open at the same time, almost certainly a first.Coffee time...

Hi everyone,
I thought I'd already posted, but hadn't. I'm still feeling tired, last week must have taken it out of me. I'm on Esben watch today, he was at nursery today and apparently had a good day. I took the opportunity to do the grocery shop and (almost) stuck to my list. We've been spending far too much on groceries over the past couple of months, although some of that was due to Covid and buying convenience food to see us through. I bought a few packs of jersey royals from Morries because we had them in Wales and they tasted as I remember them instead of the bland potatoes I've been buying from other supermarkets. Dad was obsessive about his new potatoes and mum used to scour Chorley market for his favourites.
I'm still working my way through the mountains of washing. Just some bedding and a load of towels to do. I want to try to get a bit of sewing in while Esben naps but we shall see if it comes off.
Happy belated birthday Nan, sorry we missed it.
Have a good day.
Have a good day everyone.

Hi everyone, just typed medium length post and must have glanced Ctrl and ? again and it all turned into some odd script.

Coxy belated happy anniversary. TA pleased that Sparkly cat was happier. Gers well done with the sorting, putting me to shame.
Sorry, but I will leave it there for today, off to put feet up, but happy to report feel better today for the second day running, so keeping everything crossed.
Take care all.The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)10
