Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Now light and raining steadily - lots of laying water - it's obviously been raining from sometime during the night.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was LO roast pork braised in gravy, roasties, veg, yorkshires and gravy for DH. I had sausages and veg. I remembered to get some chicken out to defrost - will make something with that for dinner - not sure what as yet.
Working today from the other office, and only half day.
Keep safe and well x

Good morning all - thanks for starting us off nmlc.Yesterday was a really glorious day, probably the hottest this year. After a slow start the sun came out and shone until late in the evening. I did one small whites washing and then a woollen one. My winter 'uniform' is now tucked away for the summer. When the gardener came she cleared a ton of weeds which I promptly took to the dump, leaving them overnight in the heat wouldn't be good. My work in the guest room got started and then stalled after I took the woollens downstairs. At least I now have various bags up there for sorting. 😀
Today is already such a contrast, it's been raining overnight, the sky is grey and the wind is high again. A perfect day for holing up in the guest room and cracking on with it. My niece is working in London for two years (from Oz) and wants to visit 😱 it'll be so lovely to see her and have her here so my motivation levels have raised significantly since her text yesterday.I hope that all went well with everyone's yesterday. Happy Wednesday to all.13 -
Morning All
Raining here too and it's quite windy, don't think there will be any pressure washing today! The washing can wait until later and it will probably go out tomorrow, fingers crossed. When I get home from work today I will wave the duster about, that's the only thing with the good weather, I tend to forget about the inside!
The bus trip was good yesterday, will aim to do that at least once a week to save some pennies. Got some shopping for school from Iceland on my way home, got 10% off with my bus pass too.
It will be lovely to have your niece visiting Gers, bet you can't wait.
Get well soon Nanny.
Can't remember who asked about the ages of the school children (sorry) but they are primary, ages 5-11.
Must go and get ready, back to winter woolies today!
Take care. XX12 -
Morning all
We had rain all day yesterday, it was so cold in the evening that i went to bed at 8 and put my electric blanket on for a while, I lay there and watched a series on my tablet for a while till I nodded off, today looks a bit more promising till late afternoon when it will rain again.
Off to work today and its Leek and Potato soup making today and cheese scones, they love their scones at work and we get through a lot !
Dinner tonight will be either spag bol or chilli and rice either is nice and we can see what we fancy later. The dw has been emptied this morning and I will put a wash on before work today.
Have good days all xxx11 -
Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC.It's raining, and seems to have been raining for some time.Yesterday was cold and grey, miserable weather.Hello Nanny it's great to see you back, I was wondering about you. hope you and Mr Fixit soon feel better - don't be too quick to start doing mountains of work. It'll wait for you.Maddie, your symptoms sound like mine, except yours sound worse. I had a permanent headache which painkillers didn't shift, I gave up on those. Also a slight head cold. The sense of taste was odd, some things tasted fine, others were vile - it's put me off salmon, and some things tasted like nail varnish smells iyswim. Hope you feel better soon.Sorry to hear that your dd is having problems about the car TA, hope she gets sorted soon.Belated happy anniversary wishes to the Coxys!Snoozer, hope things improve for you and Steve, thinking of you.TA, hope Sparkle hasn't bankrupted you.We are taking dd out for her lunch today, we were supposed to do it for her birthday, which was last week, but things kept happening. We are not going anywhere flash, just the local Sa*buca, but it's handy for her to get dgs from nursery after we've eaten, and she likes it there.Thinking of our poorly and sad people, and hoping you soon feel better.Take care folks.13

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. We have the same weather as you are having GERS. Yesterday was beautiful. Really hot at times and I enjoyed sitting out in the back garden for a couple of hours.. Not reading, just sitting and enjoying the sunshine which has been in short supply this summer. Today we are back to on and off rain all day although it still feels very mild. What weather!
Sparkle was a model of good behaviour for vet day and he just got a token gesture of a small hiss after the injection. He is trying her on a maintenance dose of tabs starting in 3 weeks once yesterday's jab will be wearing off. We can only see how that goes. I came out £77 lighter. This cat will have me in the poor house before long!!
Today is bus trip day and it always seems to rain every other Wednesday for our rides out! Only 2 of us again as our 3rd friend is due to fly back from Turkey today, crazy flight situation permitting! No doubt we will end up in Ilkley or Skipton as usual. But whether the market will be on in the rain who knows! My DF is fancying the nice Italian restaurant there for our wine 'n dine lunch as, for some reason, our 3rd friend is never keen on going there so we will take advantage of her absence!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, poorly loved ones and absent friends. Take care one and all and be safe xx

Morning all. Sunny here yesterday and still sunny today!
Had my hair cut yesterday and then my Morris side was doing a demo for a Women's Institute group in the evening. They were having a Jubilee party evening so joined in with some dancing and fed us cake; all very enjoyable.
Today I'm off to help with the first morning of our new Community Larder so have to be up there in a while to help unload the van. I hope we get a few more people coming in this week.
Tonight we're having chilli for dinner. I'll make a large batch and then DH can have some Friday night as I'll be away in Dorset at a Folk Festival this weekend.
Enjoy your day everyone.11 -
Morning everyone
Dull and drizzly here this morning and meant to rain all day here....leads to a noisy day at nursery!
Yesterday was cloudy till about 6pm when the sun burst through ...I had a lovely hour or so sitting outside reading after tea.
After chatting with eldest DD I booked us a hotel in the Czech Republic for one night when I visit her in August...it's in a little spa town and looks lovely. I went on a school exchange trip to Czechoslovakia when I was 17 when it was still behind the iron curtain...very interesting experience.
Well I'm waffling...I have a couple of jobs to do and then will go down to mam and dads for an hour before work.
Hope everyone has a good day x11 -

Morning all. Plans gang a-gley yesterday...I was going to do one thing, ended up gardening for a couple of hours, moving pots, potting up, digging holes, sowing stuff...Most enjoyable. Then I spent a while looking how to draft a sleeve pattern, found a very simple way to achieve what I want. Bless Youtubes contributors. I think you can find a how to for just about anything on there. Today I am deifnitely sewing! [ probably...] Weather is a bit drizzly but I can see blue sky further away. Last night we had the most searched for plane ever on Flightradar. A police biplane did continuous circles above us for such a long time the flight path record was solid yellow over us. No idea what it was doing but it was registered in West Yorkshire....I installed that app for my father years ago, he loved watching the planes and following their flights across the world. It's so easy to get sucked in and spend ages on there looking too. Made a massive pot of ratatouille last night so that'll keep me fed for a few days.Gers, can't beat a bit of visit inspiration! Ruby, who doesn't love a scone freshly baked? Scarlet, enjoy your meal out...I confess, I read part of that as "it's handy for her to get drugs from the nursery" and I thought...well, you can imagine
WL, stick it on FB on a local community page, you'll be inundated....Look after yourselves today, do some pampering because why not....

Good morning
Damp here too, if it clears up I may go for a walk later.
I finally finished the 4th coat on the lawn edging yesterday, still got the sheds to paint, but that doesn't look likely today.
No other plans for today, I may slip up to see my Mother either today or tomorrow, I know she's got more stuff for me to take to the charity shop.
Have as good a day as you can 🌻9
