Rome Airport Transfers

Hi,
We are going to Italy for a two week holiday and arrive at Rome Airport (Leonardo) on a Saturday afternoon.
We have been quoted £90 for transfers from the airport to the hotel, it's barely a mile away, seems steep. We are a party of 9 so would need two cars or a big car/mini bus, but even so seems a bit high.
What are taxis like from the airport, do they try to scam tourists?
Thanks for any advice.
David

Prebooked transfers are generally more expensive than getting a taxi. Best place to check for taxis etc (and any destination specific stuff) is the Rome tripadvisor forum https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowForum-g187791-i22-Rome_Lazio.html

Where's your hotel if 'barely a mile away' ? Most will have a shuttle bus (often free) operating from the lower level outside the terminal. I'd be contacting the hotel and asking for their recommendation
I've never paid EUR90 for a taxi to the city centre which is 25 miles away2 -
