Hi, If you are a named driver on someone else car, do you still require your own car insurance cover, even though you do not own a car? Thank you

...I mean, do you still require separate car insurance for the car you are the named driver on?0

NO. You don't.

No, as long as you are a named driver on the policy that is all you need.
The only time there needs to be two policies is if you have your own insurance and are driving another car under the any other vehicle part of your policy. The other vehicle would need 3rd part insurance as a minimum to allow it to be on the road.1 -
You would not normally need any further insurance, so long as you are using it within the terms of the policy. You may for example only be covered for social domestic and pleasure use, in which case you would need extra cover if you were commuting or driving for hire or reward. Named drivers are normally only covered to drive a specific car and do not have cover to drive other cars.In other words, check the small print (and the large print).1
