Wren delivery caused damage to an external door

We've recently undertaken significant improvements to our home. New windows and doors fitted end of March and a new Wren kitchen in May.
The windows and doors had been fitted less than 6 weeks when Wren delivery staff accidently chipped the back door step in two places whilst delivery the kitchen units and applicances.
We spoke with our window installer and he has said it should be a full replacement door and frame at a cost of nearly £800 because the replacement frame colour will not be an exact match for the existing door. We have complained to Wren seeking full reimbursement for a replacement door but they are only willing to contribute £250 as they dont agree the damage is sufficient to warrant a full replacement. We have photographic evidence of the chips but not of the damage actually being caused at the time by the delivery men.
Any suggestions appreciated.

Photo's of the damage would help to give more reasoned responses.

To some it might look trivial but it was 6 weeks old, weve waited a long time to improve a house that we had never been proud to call our home

How much can be seen when the door is closed?
Its an area that will get a lot of scuffs.
Take the £250, get Damage Doctor to do a repair.0 -
Take the money and get a good repair person half the cost. Changing doors at times car result in other problems.
I'm not sure if it will invalidate your warranty that is something others may be able to help with.

Yes, it certainly looks trivial to me.garethe34 said:To some it might look trivial but it was 6 weeks old, weve waited a long time to improve a house that we had never been proud to call our home
How many more weeks would it take you before you'd start regarding that sort of thing as normal wear and tear? Replacing the whole thing sounds way over the top.0 -
Is that it? Those two white sections? They'll "colour in" with the right treatment, or even just weather a little over time, and the step will get scuffed and marked soon enough anyway. I'd bite their hand off for the £250 and personally, just leave it. If it still bothers you, maybe look at laminate floor repair kits in DIY stores and try and colour match. Black nail varnish would do a similar job.garethe34 said:To some it might look trivial but it was 6 weeks old, weve waited a long time to improve a house that we had never been proud to call our home

Replacing the entire frame and door over 2 tiny scuffs on the frame does seem unnecessary and wasteful. If it bothers you it can be treated so it looks a similar colour but it's a bit much to completely replace everything and it's pretty wasteful too.1

I can understand being upset and annoyed about a new door frame being damaged, but I think I can almost guarantee there will me more scuffs like that over time. Something like this https://www.amazon.co.uk/Rosewood-Konig-Scratch-Repair-Pen/dp/B00BSWPG62 will fix it for little more than £10. If Wren are offering £250 as compensation grab it with both hands before the offer is withdrawn. Use it to buy some top of the range pans and knives for your new kitchen.

Sorry, but you're asking for far too much - those will be absolutely undetectable when coloured in with a pen or similar.
£250 is a great deal, I'd take it.0
