RBS Switching Bonus

Hi all,

Switched to RBS when the switching bonus was 150 - but it still hasn't landed in my account, just wondered when they are supposed to pay it? Thanks! Ruby

    Found the answer for anyone reading this thread:

    An account can be opened on the Royal Bank of Scotland website or by downloading the RBS mobile app.

    To get the switcher offer, you must use the Current Account Switch Service, close their existing account and transfer their main current account to Royal Bank by 5pm April 21, 2022.

    Customers must pay in £1250 to the account and log into online or mobile banking through the Royal Bank mobile app before May 26, 2022.

    There is no requirement for customers to qualify for an overdraft to be eligible for the offer.

    After all these conditions are met, £150 will be credited to the account by June 24, 2022.

    Based on past experience, NatWest/RBS tend to leave paying their incentives to the very last minute, so don't be surprised if you they make you wait until the 24th to actually pay out.

    Mine has arrived in my account today. Very happy as I wasn’t expecting to get it at all. I took a punt as I had previously had a switch incentive from NatWest in the timeframe they had but did the switch anyway.

    I did the switch with Ulster and received the incentive. I have previously received a Natwest and RBS incentive. Hopefully this is helpful for others considering doing the Ulster switch in future.

    Not really sure which RBS switch offer you are referring to. The last offer was for £150, and did include existing customers, as stated in the terms of the offer;

    “2. Existing customers
    If you already have an RBS Select, Reward, Reward Silver, Reward Platinum, Premier Select, Premier Reward or Premier Reward Black account (‘existing eligible account’) opened prior to 3rd February 2022, to get £150 you must:
    (a) by 5pm, 21st April, transfer a non-RBS current account to your existing eligible account (which includes closing your non-RBS current account and moving all your payment instructions to your existing eligible account) using the Current Account Switch Service online; and
    (b) before 26th May 2022, deposit £1,250 into your existing eligible account and log into our mobile banking service. If you meet these conditions, we’ll pay £150 into your existing eligible account by 24th June 2022.”
