I have several different pensions, I don't know where they are or how much is in them

It took me a little while to find my dream job and because of this I had several jobs in my early 20s, some of those jobs had been cheeky and taken pension off of my pay cheque even though I was not eligible (working under 6 months and under 25). Because of this, I'm not sure where my pension contributions are and how many places they are in.

Is it worth talking to a financial advisor to collate it all (I saw Acumen Financial  about organising Life Insurance - so would return to them).
Or is collating pension contributions something I can do or hunt down on my own?

Thank you for any responses!

This is something you can do yourself. It was not 'cheeky' to do this - pensions are relevant to new joiners and those under 25

Financial services are like any job in life.  You can DIY or use a professional.   Your choice.

some of those jobs had been cheeky and taken pension off of my pay cheque even though I was not eligible (working under 6 months and under 25).
How is that cheeky?  It costs them more for you to be enrolled in a pension.  And auto-enrolment is required from 22 (optional for the employee below). Not 25.  And temporary staff and short term staff should still be enrolled if earning over £192 a week.

  • They did not inform me upon enrollment is all - I only found out about the contribution on the paycheque. Im more than happy to save for the future. Just confused now where all my contributions are.

depending when this was and the type of pension it's possible that you were given a refund of your contributions when you left the roles and so would have retained benefit.

check the tracing link given and see what you can uncover.  personally I think you would be wasting money to pass this to any paid service and you may end up paying more than you actually end up tracing.

Normally a financial advisor would advise on what to do with the pensions, once you located them. They could presumably help with locating them but you would still have to supply details of where you worked etc

Also normally financial advisors would not be interested when the funds involved are probably quite small.

Those are not the criteria for auto enrolment. There's nothing 'cheeky' about your former employers complying with the law.

Given you have only just turned 25, there shouldn't be too much of an issue in tracking down your former pension contributions. Start with your former employers and ask which pension provider they used (although if you've not moved house/changed e-mail address since you started work, you should automatically get communications direct from the provider).
Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!
