VW emissions payout
Hi I’m wondering if anyone else finds it strange that the solicitors dealing with the claim have decided after all this time to close the case based on a small pay out considering what other countries have been paid. Surely there should have been a consultation with claimants before they accepted any form of amount. Does anyone have any information about this and is there anyway we can appeal this decision.

The Solicitors will have assessed the value of the out-of-court settlement against the risk of nothing. On a no-win-no-fee case, the Solicitors are more strongly empowered to take such action. What payout did you receive?atw1979 said:Hi I’m wondering if anyone else finds it strange that the solicitors dealing with the claim have decided after all this time to close the case based on a small pay out considering what other countries have been paid. How much did the car cost in the first place?atw1979 said:I was told it was a significant amount to find out it was only £1700.
What were your actual losses?
How did you calculate / verify those losses?2 -
You would need to check what you signed up to in order to see what rights they had to settle on your behalf and whether there is any room to appeal anything.
Given that you had very little in the way of any loss in the UK, what did you believe you should have received? £1,700 seems very generous for some ambulance chasing.

£1,700 doesn't cover the losses suffered over those terrible wasted years! So what are your losses?
Losses caused by personal suffering which manifest themselves in the following ways :
Worry - which led to a loss of sleep
Anguish - which led to a loss of trust
Humiliation - which led to a loss of self-respect
Impotence - which led to a loss of (well you get the idea)
