Credit Card Cancellation when you switch bank account

Hi everyone.

Firstly, I would like to say 'Hi', this is my first post.

Currently I have Lloyds account with a Cashback credit card. I want to switch to HSBC and get the £170.

My question is, shall I cancel the credit card first, after or do they do it for me? Do I have to pay the money from the credit card in full before that?

is the switching process easy or it will be painful?

Thanks,

Unless having a current account is a condition of having the credit card, it will remain open and separate.

The switching service only relates to current accounts.
So savings, isa, mortgages & CC etc are not affected. Unless as above.

Feel like this question needs to be pinned because it gets asked all the time.

Some credit cards require you to have a current account in order to apply for them, but in my (admittedly limited) experience the current account can usually be closed/switched away subsequently without closing the credit card account.
