Faultly mobile phone repair caused water damage.

Hello,
I have a Samsung phone that was faulty, and it got repaired by an external company that Samsung organised and which is their official repairer.
The first fault was the screen was broken and this was repaired under warranty, it was free of charge. This repair was successful in curing that issue, but when the phone was returned to me the phone glass was lifting and the seal/adhesive around the device could be seen. This was then again repaired by the same company, and it looked fine.
Sadly, after this (less than a week) when applying a screen protector (wet apply) water got into the phone and the phone no longer works. This was not caused by anything the phone wasn't be rated for (IPX8), and even when I originally bought the phone in Oct 2021, I did the same procedure and water didn’t get into the phone.

I have asked Samsung to repair or replace due to the phone not working, but as it is water damaged they will not do this, and will only charge me for the repair as water damage not covered by their warranty I have exhausted all of their complaint procedures and I am now at a loss of what to do.

Can you elaborate on what 'procedure' caused water to get inside the phone?

Yes, i was putting on a screen protector to protect the glass. Its a silicone/plastic film that goes on, but to get it on correctly you have to mist the phone with water, then you squegee out the water that is under the film. I did this with my orginal hand set (and others from Samsung) with no issue.

One thing you could think about is small claims court against the repairers for damaging the phone whilst in their care (ie damaging the water seal). Send them a letter before action first.

Would it be against the reparers directly or Samsung? They carried out the repair on Samsuns behalf.
Also it wasnt in their care, the damamged was caused by me, but unknowningly.
