Good morning,
It's a bit grey here this morning but better than the rain yesterday🌧
I'm feeling tired this morning, I don't know why as my fitbit tells me I had a good nights sleep🥱
I will go for a walk in a bit, then clean downstairs as not a lot got done over the weekend. I've got half a new patio laid, but the boys ran out of duff and of course we couldn't order anymore as it was bank holiday. Never mind they'll be back to finish it at the weekend. There's enough laid to get my table and chairs on so I'll move those later and hope the sun comes out to celebrate🌞
Easy dinner tonight, the second half of the roast dinner we made yesterday😋

Morning everyone,
We are back from our jaunt to the IOW. We were very lucky with the weather, and it only rained when we were queueing for the Fishbourne to Portsmouth ferry coming home yesterday. Hotel was nice - expensive given it didn't include breakfast so first morning we had to get food at Osborne House as we hadn't pre-ordered(?) at the hotel. Sorry but that's just odd especially as it was £260/night! We stayed in Sandown, which if you've ever been to IOW you will know it's a bit down at heel. We much preferred Cowes and Yarmouth and would aim to stay there if we went again. Luckily the island is small enough to travel around without any hassle.
I ordered a Morries delivery which came at 7.30am today, so I'm all stocked up on F&V etc. Random 2 x packs of 8 pork sausages in the bags which I didn’t order (or pay for) so they are in the freezer for another time.
Dinner tonight is a Tom Kerridge recipe for chicken in tomato and mascarpone sauce, with new pots and green veg.Sounds like a lovely send-off for your DMum Gers x
Sorry to hear about TA’s DD and DGDs accident. Hope she doesn’t have too much hassle sorting a courtesy car.
Lovely to hear of folks getting away/having visitors but glad we dodged a bullet and booked a UK break tbh. Florence can wait!
Another one here who thinks Rod S should give it up along with Paul McCartney who is due to headline Glastonbury. Dear Lord!
Get well vibes going out to Maddie and anyone else feeling under par.
Have a good day everyone,
Coxy

Afternoon all. Today the weather has been a bit kinder to us as it's been dry, brighter than of late and we've even had a little bit of sunshine. It's forecast for similar tomorrow, some light rain on Wednesday, then drier and warmer but dull for the rest of the week. Last night was very chilly indeed; we resisted putting the heating on but it was touch and go!
Kitchen duties today - I've cooked some small sprouting potatoes that I'll use on Wednesday for a topping on a fish pie, have rendered down some bacon fat and will use the crispy bacon bits sprinkled over tonight's side salad with scampi, and have made two tea loaves, a banana one for me and a coconut & apricot one for DH. Good job I like baking and cooking in general!
I'm going to have to re-tune the TV as last night it wasn't behaving itself - the picture was pixellating and the sound was very crackly. It seems to happen every time the Freeview channels change and it's so frustrating at times. If it was left up to DH I think we'd end up TV-less!
Hope you're not feeling too bad maddie and fingers crossed DH stays negative.
Stay well and take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.7
