There were two little piles of these incredibly small creatures on either side, under the lid of my compost box.

Video is poor but they were so small I was struggling to focus.

Possibly ants eggs, i found some recently too - although there were ants scurrying all around when i came across them - here they're tucked around a flower beds concrete edging.
They develop into this orangey beige stage after the small, white stage.

They look like wood lice  but I don't know what they would be doing there.  Don't really see many around the garden.  I can see some ants in the actual compost bin,. Not many, but occasionally crawling on the top of the contents.

I haven't composted for a few years, so really just interested in what's going on in the bin and wondered whether these were a creature drawn to the bin.

They walk like woodlice and the adults are often running round in my compost.
Either way both will help the compost if they are not giving you any trouble
Just looked it up. Aparantly they are carried around by an adult in a pouch. Thats cute.

I have loads of woodlice in my compost bin. Never seen them at that stage but it seems most likely that's what you've got. They won't cause any problem.
