A bit of both, I’ve got some outside walls that a bare brick that have just been painted over and that paint is coming off so something needs to be resolved there and then the front of the house is this God awful pebble dash.stuart45 said:Are the walls face brick or rendered?0 -

It is a lime based render (possibly gauged with OPC) over the top of a very hard base coat. Over the last 90+ years, it has been painted with an assortment of finishes, including stuff like Sandtex. Large patches have fallen off on one wall, and other areas sounded hollow...Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –
