Not much was achieved yesterday other than watching Greys Anatomy and doing 2 loads of laundry! Was almost a NSD but DH needed cream for our pasta dish so had to pop out and get that - a small tub locally so eye watering at 1.30.
Today I need to fill the car with petrol (can't risk waiting until tomorrow as am back and forth lots today as DC1 has swimming tonight) and am going to try to see if a local toy shop has star jars to try the carrot not stick encouragement for behaviour. If I get the star jars we will not be able to save the 100 I forecast. We also need milk (obviously).
I really "should" go for a run today - we are staying by the coast at the moment and so it's right on my doorstep but I just cannot motivate myself at all. I am depressed at my weight and need to do something about it.1 -

So I am back to the doctors today. I don't think I've said on here but I've been having tingling in my hands/feet which they thought was low folate but it really intensified yesterday and is now in my tongue/lips so I am worried. Heading to docs at 0950. DH not taking me seriously and I think he thinks I am making it up or exaggerating but I am also so fatigued and have awful headaches. Not drinking and going to bed early and nothing seems to be helping.
On the MSE front - petrol was 77 and then spent 3.15 on milk, bananas and paracetamol. We finish the month 98 within budget which is a good innings all things considered. Shiny new budget today. Bonus has been paid along with backpay as managed to get them to agree to 6.5% instead of 4.5% rise - hoofed over to DH for savings (I say savings but it is obvs all going on the house). Not sure how this month is going to go budget wise - it's easter plus school hols - amazon order of nappies, yoyos and slimfast bars will come out today/tomorrow which is not a great way to start but necessary and cheaper than buying locally. Going to get easter eggs today for DC plus niece and nephew. Have already bought the little eggs for the hunt. And again we need milk. Cannot buy large amounts because the holiday let has a teeny tiny fridge so zero room.
DH is out at band tonight so dinner from stores and will have some of the chocolates I got for mother's day plus another early night. We have been watching Monuments Men which I would highly recommend (I love these films based on a true story) but will finish that tomorrow night with DH (will only have taken us 3 nights to watch which is a combo of seventy billion interruptions from the DC plus my sloping off to bed early).
Builder driving me mad with inconsistencies and what he is charging for things. Just want to get them out now - I do think it is a fact of life that you feel shafted by builders no matter what (at least this is the consensus from speaking with friends who have had works done). Other than our en-suite and a bit of roof sorting, I never want to have to do anything involving builders again!!!!1 -
Hope doctors go ok. Have they checked your B12 / Vit D levels ?Sealed pot challenge 822

@dawnybabes thank you. Yes, they did that too and said it was low folate. The rest were ok. So have been referred for an MRI scan and put on strong painkillers as the pain in my hands is now really intense. Yesterday I put some towels on the corner of the door and was in agony afterwards - it is so weird and not like me at all. So I will just have to wait.
SIL for some reason has decided we won't exchange easter eggs for the kids - that's fine by us - bought our DC 2 x chocolate t-rex yesterday. It was only on getting home I realised I had paid the princely sum of £14 for only 135g of chocolate each - ouch. Also got milk, a spicy chicken slice for lunch and some flamingo sweets and it was a total of £19.35 - ridiculous.
4 x prescriptions for me so just under £20.
Not a great start to the month! We also need milk (again) and apples today. DC1 needs some new PE shorts as teacher gave us wrong colour so have to re-buy (will try and sell the other ones when back in house). Need to order the blinds for the DC's room.
Not sure what else to do today really as just feel totally wiped. I want to go back to work next week but equally, feel exhausted and just feel like it's going to be tough. Am only in Weds/Thurs next week due to BH but it's not like I can rest over the BH as I have the DC and DH just isn't really being very understanding or sympathetic to my plight. I also have DC1 by myself all day (and DC2 from 330) on Tuesday.1 -
Can you get a prepayment thing for your prescriptions ? If you’re going to be getting more than one a month you’d be quids in.Have you tried rubbing in some magnesium cream into any of the joints / hands that hurt ? Might help ?Sealed pot challenge 822

ouch to your hands - i hope you can get some relief from the pain soon and find out what is causing the issue.are you sure you are well enough to go back to work next week?2

@dawnybabes - I don't think we can where I live (not UK) but I will check. Thank you for the tip re magnesium cream - will try that.
@Blackcats- thank you. I'm not sure - I don't know that I am - going to see how I feel Monday but I've never in my entire career been off this long sick before (max previously has been 2 weeks) so am feeling huge guilt and also worry about it.
Just dropped DC2 at MIL then went and picked 5 x lots of grout (well, there's a couple I need DH's opinion on so going to send him pics). Need to do food shop but am a bit exhausted just from that. There's also laundry to put on and some to put away. Not much rest today as DC1 finishes at 1pm for easter hols so will have to be out of here around 1235.
Supposed to be going to a friends tonight - not yet seen her new place (and think she moved in 2022!) so feel I should go but I also really just want to be on the sofa and go to bed early (last night was 830). But might pop along for an hour (there's a couple of other friends going). Tomorrow afternoon I'm meeting my new friend from choir for a walk and to see her new house which should be nice. But other than that, a quiet weekend with the DC and DH, probably also seeing his family for some of it.
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend when it comes x1 -
Gah. We have already almost spent £300 and our new budget only started on Weds! Other car needed filling so that was £73 (petrol more expensive here), food shop was £92 (and still need things from other shops - that said, they had the kids' beans on offer and the pasta we also use the same so I did stock up which I know will save in the long run), then we have had an order from a*azon of nappies etc, added to what I'd already spent above. It just flies out.
Didn't go to friend's last night as was just in so much pain. So night on sofa with DH and then finished my book in bed.
Taking DC1 to music school this morning, DH has taken DC2 to football, then we will meet at the park and nip to the other (two) shops we need things from. Lunch will be from stores at home. Then meeting my choir friend this afternoon.
Tonight is chicken alfredo lovingly made by DH. Think we will have to see FIL tomorrow. DH pointed out this is (hopefully) the penultimate weekend in the holiday let! Kitchen is almost in and looking fabulous (thank god) apart from worktops (they have put temporary mdf ones in) which will be a few more weeks and new front door went in yesterday. Builder wants a meeting early next week - just hoping he doesn't try to spring more extras on us as there is literally no more cash.
I will be so glad once this is over and we can start trying to build back the savings again.
We also have to book our ferries to the IOW today for the summer so more cost and I need to check our swim school account as think that another lump payment for DC1's swimming lessons is going to be payable.1 -
Hi have just read your diary, I think it makes sense that your immune system might be playing up with all the stresses you have going on! Makes sense to get the whole house done now, would definitely increase stresses overall if it was more prolonged. Hope whatever is going on for you is sorted nice and quick, does not help feeling so unwell when you have so much to do. Take care!3
