Afternoon all. The rain arrived yesterday as promised, albeit somewhat later than forecast, and today is dull and drizzling on and off. I doubt we'll see any sun at all today.
Yesterday was very lazy day but I did manage to do the ironing, all folded and out away, replaced the batteries in the TV remote and tidied the freezer drawers (again). After that, I just couldn't be bothered with anything else so settled down with some knitting and even had a nana nap. We watched bits and pieces of the Jubilee celebrations - loved the Queen & Paddington. Can't comment on Rodders as we didn't see him but yes, he probably does need to hang up his hat.
Today's dinner is roast pork (from freezer), mash, carrots and broad beans. Last of the rice pudding for afters - next time I shall have to make a smaller amount, it's lasted a heck of a lot longer than I thought it would! There's a couple of scones to eat up before they get too dry - I'm thinking toasted with a blob of jam and a coffee will fit the bill in about half an hour's time.
Gers, a sad but lovely last act of love.
Glad you've enjoyed the last few days, poppy. A change of scenery and seeing people can work wonders to lift the spirits.
Thank goodness DD and the girls are OK, TA. Bad luck about the car, but that can be replaced, they can't.
Sounds like a good wedding Rosy, despite the setbacks. Look after those insect bites and try not to scratch them.
Enjoy your break bella.
Enjoy what's left of the weekend, stay well and take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.6 -
Loved seeing the Queen and Paddington. Her sense of humour is wonderful.3
