Coffee drunk, in bed, and now ready to face the day.Yesterday I did two washing loads, one big load of whites and a smaller one of coloureds. Everything dried really quickly in the bright sunshine despite there being hardly any wind. I've taken off the winter duvet and hope that I won't regret it! At about 7pm I mowed the back lawn, it was done so quickly I surprised myself. The cordless mower is so blooming good, it used to take me much longer when I had to manage the electric cord before.Today I've been invited up the hill for a BBQ lunch. Before that I'm going to scatter my beloved Mum's ashes into the sea here. The chap up the hill will bring his bagpipes to play a lament for me. My Mum requested this so it'll be my final act of love. Before then I need to fold and put away all the washing and water my potatoes and strawberries. I may have the first strawberry today. My thoughts are with our poorlies. Happy Sunday to everybody.12

Morning
Gers what a lovely goodbye
Yesterday was such a gorgeous day. Very warm and blue sky all day. Shame to see the forecast is pretty awful here for today.
Good day jobs wise and the gammon exceeded expectations. Had it with some baby pots and peas which tbh may be the same tonight before I freeze the rest.
Really loved the concert at Buck House last night….we know how to put a show on that’s for sure. Must have been good it was on past my bedtime only downside was Rod Stewart….give it up man you cant sing anymore!!
PJ day today and will enjoy the final jubilee procession. Apparently there is a load of puppet corgis walking in it…..now that sums up the eccentric brit can't wait
Have a good Sunday all

Morning from a very wet Cotswolds. It has rained very heavily all night and is still at it now Jubilee party in the village at lunchtime supposed to be outdoors! I have had a very sociable few days. Eldest son and family came on Thursday and we went out to dinner at the hotel where my youngest son is head chef. Lovely meal and a free glass of champagne. Yesterday was picked up for another party, delicious food and Pimms. Has really lifted my spirits because I spend a lot of time on my own. I am very limited what I can do because of my illness but the last few days have really helped. Gers thinking of you today what lovely but sad thing to do.10

Morning folks and thanks GERS. What a lovely way to scatter your DM's ashes.
It's another drab day here. No rain just thick cloud and no sign of the sun. I'm hoping it will be marginally warmer than yesterday when it was bloomin' cold all day.
Today I am counting my blessings well and truly. DD and the 2 younger DGDs were in a bad bump yesterday on their way back home from the van. The AA transported the car back home but she was told it may be a write off. Meanwhile she is hoping for a courtesy car when she speaks to the insurance co tomorrow. It seems you are not allowed to have accidents over w/e's and BHs can you believe it! She had a bad night going over it all and what might have been, as well as bruising to her legs and pain in her chest due to the airbag, but the girls are fine and it could have all been so much worse.
Not a great deal planned for today. DW just been emptied (too tired last night!) WM is chugging away with a white load in but I don't think it will get pegged out. No rain forecast till tonight but I don't believe them so it will go over the airer upstairs. I shall watch the final day of celebrations today enjoying a Slothful Sunday. I enjoyed the Party at the Palace last night but agree with NELS there comes the day when it's time for certain older artists to call it a day. Sad but true.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all our poorlies, poorly loved ones and MIA. Take care one and all xx

Morning all, back to wet and windy for me & 10 deg.. It's a bit of a shock after the temp reached 34 deg. in Greece for our 1st few days :oWe've had a lovely time at my niece's wedding, she looked beautiful. We were fine at the airport but we had decided to just take hand luggage, bit of a squash but managed it. DB2,SIL and DN ( bridesmaid) came a couple of days after us.They should have got there early hours on the Sat morning - flight cancelled after being there hours. They even got as far as the gate to be told they were going to a hotel & try again next day.Eventually got there 10 o clock Monday, and the wedding was at 4!! SIL case went missing too, so no wedding outfit for her
, still they made it ,that was the main thing & the wedding was perfect. They've had the same scenario coming home too, at least I hope they've landed now! The only thing that marred it for me was the large amount of bites I got, legs look horrific and still itchy now! Good thing I wore a long dress for the wedding. This was despite using repellant,& a plug in device in the room. Even DH had some, and he never has before.
Hope Bella gets on ok & has a great holiday.Gers, that sounds a lovely way to scatter your DMs ashes, thinking of you xPoppy, pleased you've had a nice few daysBack to reality, and planning what to eat, we had a takeaway curry last night. I did a quick shop yesterday for a few bits, will do an online order today.I think it'll be a picky type tea tonight, I've got buffalo wings and ribs. The good news is we didn't spend all our holiday money, some left on the travel card and some cash, so we'll get that changed- def no plans to go abroad again anytime soon!Right time for a coffee, and I'll have to read back and catch uo on all your news- hope you are all well! xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning everyone Gers what a lovely goodbye you always amaze me you have such a busy life and some wonderful friends bless you .TA what a worry so pleased your family are alright I have been a fan of rod stewart forever have seen him in concert twice but I agree with you Nelski he makes me cringe some people don’t know when to give up he obviously loves it because he doesn’t need the money but somebody tell him please .another day of doing nothing for me we called at sons yesterday they were having a barbecue spent a nice couple of hours sun kept popping out but the breeze was cold back to work tomorrow but I have enjoyed the long weekend off thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing9

Good morning very damp and dull here after thunder and a lot of (much needed) rain here overnight, it should make it easier to evict some weeds now.
OH and I both enjoyed the concert, but agree about Rod. Very tired this morning as ended up watching the Churchill film until 1 am. Have woken with a sore throat, keeping everything crossed that it is only a head cold after being with so many people at the wedding I will do a test shortly.
After Coffee Morning called to see a DB and family to drop off the rest of the dog food that we had here, we stood outside and met or re-acquainted ourselves with 5 of their working collies and Cocker Spaniels, lovely, but bedlam. OH and I are now in no doubt that a young working breed would be far too much for us to cope with, should we decide to have another furry friend at some stage.
Some house chores and perhaps some cooking on the cards and maybe try and do some weeding, but the herbage is very wet atm.
Have a good Sunday all.The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)9 -
Morning from soggy mehefinland
Nels you are so right about certain 'performers' although I sometimes wonder who told some of these people that they could sing!! Louis Armstrong must be spinning, and what on earth was the diva Ross wearing. Thought it was a reincarnation of Queen Victoria. Sorry but Paddington and her madge stole the show for me, the rest was just passable with a few notable exceptions both good and bad.. Andrea B was super as always.
Coming back to earth ( with a bump) poor Scoobymare has a major outpouring of gunk from her hoof. Poultice again . Found that a size 1 nappy is quite good too. Just fits the hoof nicely and is super absorbent.
The big ash trees come down this week - shall be very sad to see them go but they are getting dangerous and I couldn't sleep if anything were to happen. Been worrying about them since the big 3 storms earlier this year, and then die-back has done for them too. Be alright for wood for the log burner for the next few years or so ; but its a small consolation. So lots of machinery to entertain the girls this week. Have to put the electric fence up to keep them well away from the workers.
Hugs and spoons as laways, and if you haven't had your party hope the weather stays good for you ( unlikely here!)
