We have stayed twice at the Anchor Guest House, 49 Lower Gardner St, Dublin 1.
It is comfortable and you get a good breakfast. A big plus point is that the bus to and from the airport goes past the door. (Tip: Don't get the special airport bus for 6 euros, get the No. 41 from the airport, about 1.20 euro.)
The Anchor is within walking distance of everything in Dublin centre, including Grafton St, Temple Bar etc. Phone No: +353 1 878 6913. I think they have a website too.0 -
4 girls!!! :j
You can stay in my place..
It all depends on what you want to do and see when your over here.
Tell me what your planning and I'll give you some options.
If your just going to hang around the city centre (temple bar) we'll come up with something for yous.
regards,

Thanks for the Hotel info I shall be contacting them for more details..As for coming to Dublin we are hopefully shopping, eating and having a good night out in the bars...We have no idea what we want to see yet...I have to do some research I think...We are only there for one night so I don't think we can do that much sightseeing..Any ideas on a must see or do when we are there?0

Went with my daughter last October and stayed at the Harcourt Hotel, Harcourt Street, about 5 minutes walk from St. Stephens Green and Grafton Street. Reasonably priced, very clean accommodation and good bar and restaurant. They also have a nightclub in the basement of the building.
Get prices from all sources even for the same hotel as they all charge different. I found the cheapest price was from Gulliver Ireland http://www.gulliver.ie/
We did the open top bus trip, quickest way to see all the sights if you're pushed for time.
Have a great time.Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you0 -
Maybe a bit late for you, but I can recommend the Camden De Luxe Hotel on Camden Street - website (just round the corner from the hotel mentioned by sylwright). It's 5 minutes walk from Grafton Street and the Service Bus to the airport stops outside. It also has a large bar downstairs, and an American Style pool hall upstairs in the old ballroom (where they filmed a lot of The Commitments).0

'Must see' is the Guinness Sky Bar. It's not too far out of the city centre and could be walked in maybe 20 minutes from the bottom of Grafton Street, but a bus or taxi might be a better idea.
'Must Do'? - Have a pint of guinness!0 -
Thanks for all the information...I think Guinness is at the top of the list ha ha....We are definatly doing the bus as we don't have much time in Dublin...
Thanks Again everybody

They say the posher part of Dublin is south Dublin but for a weekend girls weekend as long as you are not far from the centre that's usually ok. As I lived in Dublin for 3 years recently. I would highly recommend you try out these bars: CAFE EN SEINE near the main high street of Grafton (not seen an equivalent place like this even in London or Paris) and the BAILEYS is also quite nice. Though if you are going for hen party it is usually in the templebar area.pudding wrote:Does anybody know of any B and B's or Hotels to stay in in Dublin. There's 4 of us going in December for a girly weekend...Cheap if possible Thanks!0
