Shared Ownership - Very concerning ASB

My son lived in a bock of flats with one flat still council ownedCarrera74 said:My local authority have a department that deal with anti social behaviour and 'nuisance' neighbours which then links in with the ASB team at the Police and other organisations. I have had to contact them about similiar incidents and they have taken it further with just my concerns, no other neighbours needed to complain but obviously this strengthens your case if they do. You can also report via Crimestoppers if you want to stay anon although any complaints made via your LA will be dealt with anon too

His council had a similar set up with an all night complaint service and direct links to the police.
Tenant on the ground floor was drug dealing. Sales were done through the front window. Two dogs sat in the window 'on watch.'
There were frequent arguments which they could hear two floors above the culprits.
One night they were wakened by the fire brigade telling them someone had set fore to the communal stair.
Son was given the council all night call number and also the police link and told to call the police direct when necessary.
Police were reluctant to act as they wanted to catch the 'big fry' , not the little ones but the council hounded them until they did.
My son sold his flat with no problem to an investor.1 -
Thank you everyone for your helpful posts. I didn't even know about a community trigger so that was really good to know about.
Since emailing both the council and police and dropping community trigger into the email, the chief of police has been in touch to tell me they are taking things really seriously and are thinking of doing door to door knocking to reassure residents.
This is a good step in the right direction, but I am appauled at the total lack of interest from the HA. Both myself and other neighbours reported some time ago about the problem tenant children kicking heavy balls at resident's properties and vehicles. HA did nothing. Now problem tenants have installed a basket ball hoop at the front of their property. Not only does this look ugly in our street, but the problem children are now bouncing heavy basket balls all around neighbouring properties as we have parking bays for both problem tenants other neighbours and visitors directly outside of their house. Again, reported to HA as another tenancy breach, HA not interested stating they are not taking action.
As it was the HA I purchased my property from, I really do feel they have a level of responsibility in this and I am really contemplating taking legal action against the HA as on numerous occasions, it has failed to take any enforcement action which has resulted in serious incidents occuring. I have proof that both myself and others have reported these to the HA to be later told, they have no records of any residents reporting matters, when I not only have evidence of my initial report, but return correspondence from the HA on the matter which shows the HA is telling lies.
I had hoped and wanted to outright purchase my SO property but I have not done so because of the awful situation I and my other neighbours find ourselves in. I should look forward to going home from work and should not have these constant issues to worry about. Both myself and other neighbours are so worried at what affect all of this might have on our property prices. We understand that you get social housing in all new developments, but for these issues to have gone on for so long unchallenged is just not right.0
