Mortgage offer and need loan
Options
I’m due to move into a new property in 3 weeks and need to apply for a loan to pay for things like carpets etc.
I am worried about applying through my bank although would prefer this as wondering if I get turned down or not will it effect my mortgage coming through. My bank don’t do a soft search.
I tried ringing them and they couldn’t really give me any answers as to if it could impact my mortgage. I have an offer but it’s not drawn down yet.
Also done a soft search on Credit Karma and came out at 100% for some companies. Does that mean I’m guaranteed to be accepted with those so less risky?

Don't apply for any credit until you're completed.3

You make do with whatever is in the property until the amount is saved up.
Buying on credit for a new home is the quickest way most people get into debt as it all escalates.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.5 -

can’t can’t do that as as it’s a new build and doesn’t have flooring- I thought I’d have enough but my mum who was gifting me the deposit is ill in hospital so I’ve had to find more than I thought. Also need stairlift fitted. Might just have to take a chance on it0

is getting more on the mortgage a possibility? It's not like it's a consolidation of debts with the mortgage at this point so might be considered more acceptable.
Is there anything possible via the construction company?
I quite get the bit about needing carpeting in place prior to fitting a stairlift. Easier to bolt through the carpet than try to fit the carpet around the footings.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards.
