Awful smell in one bedroom! PROBLEM SOLVED!

Hi, our smallest bedroom has an awful smell in it, smells like faeces! We have no plumbing upstairs so not sure what it could be. Our neighbors bathroom is not directly on the party wall side as their landing runs across that side.
What could it be? Is it a case of taking up the carpet and looking under the floor boards?

    Has it recently been painted? When paint goes off, I think it can smell pretty bad.

    No not done any painting. It's really puzzling. We live in the country side and first I thought it was where I had the window open 🤣 but had them closed for days now and the waft comes and goes but only this one room

    so after removing half the stuff out of the room I've found the culprit! The kids are denying any wrong doing so I guess it's the cat who sadly left us last week. Maybe it's something to remember him by!

    @Maskface it seems to be can't think of anything else that would smell so bad! They're currently drying off after a hose down!
