Hi all
I’m after some advice on the above.
I’m after some advice on the above.
I want to set up one for grocery shopping and one for petrol for wifey and me. If say at pay day I put £300 in groceries and £250 into petrol… how do I spend using my debit card on these as I don’t think the spends will come out of the right space. Sorry if this sounds dim but I’ve never used this spaces method before.
Thanks

You can only spend from the main current account with the debit card, not a Starling Space so, unfortunately, you would need to hold a balance in your main account sufficient for your transactions, and then withdraw the money from the Space, post-shop, to restore the status quo.
At least that's how I used to do it, pre-Chase.0 -
I think only Direct Debits can be paid from spaces, so you can set the money aside from your main balance.

You can spend from a space that has the spaces debit card attached to it.
Read the info again, I think it's pretty clear0 -
That’s a special kind of space, though, and limited to £200 at any point in time. You can also only have one Connected Card space.crumpet_man said:You can spend from a space that has the spaces debit card attached to it.

You can do it with monzo by having a virtual card linked to a space, and then setting that virtual card.on Apple/Google pay on your phone. You will need one of the paid for accounts though. With Monzo we do it by splitting our pay into weekly pots when we get paid. Each week we withdraw the money for that week from the relevant pot, go food shopping and fill the car up on the first day of that week, and what's left is our 'fun' money.1
