We’ve just moved into a new place and although it seems fairly well secured I’d still like to have some independent advice on whether anything needs upgrading - especially the alarm system.
I’m sure the Police used to do these, but I can’t find any information these days.
I’m also loathe to go with something that isn’t fully independent - as I think it’s likely nothing needs to be done and I am keen on not being sold anything I don’t need. Mainly I want the peace of mind.
Does anyone have any recommendations as to where I can find something like this? I’m in SE London.
thanks in advance!

I'd contact your safer neighbourhoods team- there'll be a dedicated one for your borough. This should be easily identifiable from your forces website. They should be able to give you specific crime prevention advice for your area, provide a bit of info around what types of insecurities are being exploited etc. A lot of burglaries these days are to get your car keys so they tend to target properties with expensive vehicles on driveways, for example. Aside from this and obviously making sure all windows/doors are secure, any deterrent such as visible alarms, cctv, outside lighting providing some ambient light during hours of darkness, is worthwhile.0

Fantastic advice - thanks so much! I had heard of these before but never thought to look them up, I’ll give it a go straight away.
Really appreciate it!
