Accidently binned jewellery box

Hi, My husband accidently binned my jewellery box which had lots of sentimental value and all my jewellery ,when clearing out the room !! Can I claim it on my house contents insurance ?

    Possibly, but you need to ask the insurer.

    And you won't have a claim for "sentimental" value, only actual value.

    Expect the insurers to ask a lot of questions... this type of "loss" is seen as a convenient way to liquidate assets and so insurers are naturally suspicious
