Savings for a discharged bankrupt?

Hi,
I am now a discharged bankrupt and am looking for the best way to save some of my wages for the next few years.
I earn about £1000 to £1500 per month (after tax) and am looking to save £500 a month.
I currently bank with NatWest (a STEP account which has online banking with direct debits/standing orders but NO overdraft or cheque books), and I have been turned down by them when I applied online for one of their own mini cash ISA accounts.
Anyone got any good ideas for me please? I just know that if I leave my money in my normal account, it will get spent along with the rest of my wages!!
Thanks very much in advance.

You are better off going into a branch to see an account manager to open a savings account in these circumstances. On-line applications will just about always refuse anyone with bankruptcy mentioned anywhere in their record or application. This includes insurance too.

Thanks for that Xbigman, I will go and see them in person at the branch I opened my account.
...and 'yes' smam21, you would think they would be happy I'm not spending their money, but then again that means they can't be making any money off me doesn't it?!!
Thanks again.
