Morning all. Today is bright and sunny and feeling milder. Yesterday wasn't too bad either, we had just one lot of rain - and guess who got caught in it? That was on my weekly Co-op trip - very uneventful, no useful ys items to speak of, but did use 75p of membership offers on fruit and milk.
There's nothing in particular that I need to be doing today so I'm going to tackle the spare bedroom while I have the time and the inclination - there's no clutter in it but it's a while since it had a good top to bottom clean. It will be another job off the To Do list that never seems to get any shorter. Tea tonight is egg & chips and the BM is currently doing its thing.
I'm not aware of any Jubilee parties happening around here but there might be something on in one of the streets as I noticed yesterday they had put up some bunting. It's known locally as The Green (nothing like a village green other than the houses surround a large piece of grassed area) and has quite a community feel to it with planters that the residents look after and lots of children. If they are having a street party I hope the weather is kind to them - and anyone else with plans.
Enjoy your gig tonight Gers.
I wouldn't worry too much about the little cakes WL, they'll be enjoyed, whatever they look like!
So sorry for your daughter's upset at the airport dp1 - I hope she'll manage to get back to you asap, you must be so disappointed.
Enjoy the long weekend whatever you have planned, especially the workers among us - you need the break! Take care all. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.8 -
Just a quick update - At first DD was re- booked onto a flight on Saturday morning...not much use when she was flying back to Germany on Sunday night.
She cried...and managed to get on a flight to Edinburgh instead...we're in between Edinburgh and Newcastle. She ended up getting home about 2.30 - so only an hour and a bit later than she should have been...so all is good!
Lovely to have her home again and my mam and dad were delighted to see her x9 -
