Morning from a bright sunny Darlington. My drive down was mostly enjoyable until I reached the A66 which was mostly congested. I made a brief stop in Glasgow and the powered through. Being with my friends is so refreshing. The husband and both sons went out to see The Killers in Middlesbrough so we two women sat, talked and talked and drank wine. 😃
This evening it's the youngest boy's (17) first gig so I'm sure I'll feel my age.I hope that everyone who has a day off enjoys it, if you're at work then perhaps it's a bit more relaxed. Happy Platinum Jubilee Thursday to all.8 -

Morning everyone
Thanks for starting us off Gers - you're certainly out and about! Hope you have an enjoyable time.
Sun shining and blue sky here to start the day. Wash load ready to peg out in a mo.
DH watching catchup tv, I'm enjoying first cuppa whilst on here, have had my shower too, DS1 still in his pit, enjoying a lie in. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was HM lasagna which will be tonight's dinner also to use up the LO's. I'll find something to have as not enough for all 3 of us (not how much the menfolk eat anyway!)
Yesterday work was very quiet - the road going was very quiet too - it seems lots of people have taken Mon, Tues and Weds this week to get a full week off. Back to work on Monday for me, so shall enjoy the time off. We have nothing particular planned just chillin.
Keep safe and well x

Morning all; bright and sunny here so far.
Planning on watching the Trooping of the Colour this morning and then I have some little cakes to ice, ready for tomorrow. The posh Union Jack cake cases have turned out to be quite small; a bit disappointing really, plus I'm pretty useless at fancy icing but will give it a go.
After that I'll pop out for some Greek salad ingredients so there's something I can eat at the bbq.
Yesterday's trial Community Larder was extremely quiet and we volunteers left early as there just wasn't anything to do. I hope it picks up in the coming weeks.
Hope the BH is enjoyable for everyone.8 -
Morning everyone
Lovely sunny morning here - fingers crossed it lasts all weekend.
I picked little one up from nursery at lunchtime yesterday - we made pizzas with pitta breads for lunch. There was quite a fuss about going down for her nap - but eventually she fell asleep! I had an hour in the sun with my book before the shout of 'granny I'm up!' We spent a lovely hour painting stones - I was very proud of my Union Jack stone till I realised I had the blue and white the wrong way round! Never mind - she was impressed! I'll put some varnish on them later so they can go outside. After that we played in her sandpit -it was a lovely afternoon.
Today I'm going to get my hair cut in town, then my brother is coming to mam and dads for lunch so myself, DD and little one are going too. Eldest DD is on her way from Germany so should arrive early afternoon...dad will ask every five minutes when will she be here?
Ah no - she's just been on the phone in tears - she flew from Nuremberg to Frankfurt with only 45 minutes to get on her connecting flight....but she'd phoned Lufthansa and yes it would be fine....only to wait 15 minutes on a bus for everyone to get off the plane...ran through the airport to arrive at the gate a minute late and they wouldn't let her on! She's now in a queue to find out what to do but the next flight to Newcastle is tomorrow!!
So I'm feeling sad... have to go put my Tesco shopping away.
Hope everyone has a good day x

Morning folks and thanks GERS. Enjoy Darlington and the gig! A beautiful start here so my fingers are crossed it will last. It definitely feels warmer too.
I have been down memory lane this morning looking at the photos my dad took of our street party for the Coronation in 1953. We watched the actual ceremony on the tv of the only family in the lane who had one! There were loads of us all rammed in their front room! Although I was 7 at the time I only have vague memories of that day but looking at the photos it seems we all enjoyed it! It's a long time since I saw any of the other children on the photos (apart from my DB) I would love to know what happened to them all.
No plans for attending a street party today although there is one planned for the crag (bring your own booze and chair) but I am still not happy about going to such things on my own so I will pass on that. There are the usual jobs if I feel so inclined but I think it will be a slothful day instead watching the celebrations etc on tv.
Have a lovely day folks whatever you are doing and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, poorly loved ones and MIA. Take care one and all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"10 -
DP1 - that's awful for your DD, and you! 😞 Frankfurt airport is a real challenge. I hope that she can get on an alternative carrier.6

Good morning
Warm and sunny 🌞 here. My nephews are here digging up the old patio, so we're probably annoying the neighbours with the noise but hey ho we don't complain about theirs 😉
So stuck in the house today, may do the ironing, may watch a bit of the jubilee or may just settle down with my cross stitch😁 nice to have choices🤣🤣
DP1 I'm so sorry your daughter had been delayed, airports are a nightmare at the moment
Thinking of all the poorly, worried and sad♥️
Have a good day 🌻

Morning all
Had a lovely sleep and did not get up till 9 so I feel very refreshed, I have a wash on the go and another to go in after the washing can be hung out today.
Im taking mum to my work today to get her some plants they have a lovely display so she will enjoy that, will see if she needs some shopping after at the local shop or maybe some lunch out.
Its so lovely having four days off now I certainly need the break I seem to be rushing from one thing to the next and constantly exhausted !
Not sure about dinner tonight will go and look in the freezer after this, I have lost 12lb now so I am very pleased that my efforts are working.
Nels sorry to hear you had a fall, I missed your post yesterday, hope you are ok xxxx
