Hope this is the correct forum for this query.
I am retired and on a state pension. Although I pay no tax am I classed as a UK Taxpayer as my tax allowance is reduced by the amount of pension I pay?
Many thanks.

As you get taxable income and have a NI number, for sure you will be on HMRC's records.0

The personal allowance is 12,750
If your income is less than this you are not a taxpayer1 -
Context is important. Who is asking and why?

A UK taxpayer does not necessarily pay any tax, it can be just a status so the context of op's question is important.

You are a taxpayer in that you will pay tax if your earnings are above the personal allowance, but the actual amount of tax you currently pay is zero. As others have said, whether you are or aren't a taxpayer will depend on who is asking and why.

It is a bit of an esoteric question.
Nowadays you could easily be liable to tax but not have to anything if the amount liable to be taxed falls into one or more of the 0% bands.0 -

Are you indicating that you have both a state and an occupational/private pension which taken together are less that your personal tax allowance?
The tax code shown on your payment advice for the non-state pension has been reduced by the amount of your state pension?
You are a person liable for tax in the UK - you pay no tax because your income is under the amount you are allowed to receive tax free - taxed at 0% rate.
