    Would probably have been better to have called their bluff rather than go with a "tame" solicitor who is likely not to have your interests at the top of their agenda. But you are where you are.

    I couldn't risk it. We viewed loads of houses as soon as they were coming onto the market and they were sold (over asking) almost immediately. I got outbid on two before this one came along, and I bought this before it even went up on rightmove. 

    Its good Ive found a house but this market is terrible right now.

    And I would change solicitors.
