    Oh, British Gas said I could! I'm probably going to stick with the variable rate and close my account when I sell the house.
    Some suppliers will allow a contract to transfer between properties but I would get confirmation from them in writing.

    When you move into your new property, you do need to sign up with the deemed supplier. You can then initiate a switch back to BG. You will pay the deemed supplier for energy used until the transfer takes place. The BG tariff would be adjusted for regional tariff differences.
