The results of this poll are going to be a bit misleading as they only capture what people have done, not what they would have done if banks hadn't closed branches or heavily cut hours.
Asking me if I used a bank branch that's been closed is always going to be a no as it's not possible(data that's useless, but the banks will use to justify closing the branch) , asking if I would have used the branch if it were open would be a yes (which is much more useful data, but most companies seem to only run polling/surveys to justify what they have already done/are about to do, not to learn or improve their service)
My views and opinions are my own and do not represent those of my employer(s) or anyone else

I only really use my bank branches to pay money or cheques in, which is probably about once a month.  I do appreciate having them there to do that though, as not all Post Offices offer that facility and those that do often have long queues.

I'm 50, I haven't visited a branch in over 10 years. And probably years before that last one.
By choice, don't see the need. Of course I don't include cashpoints in that (even those rarely do these days, less than once a month).

I also have not used a check in over 15 years, don't even know where my checkbook is.

I last visited a bank branch in May 1996 when I took out a loan. Since then all banking has been done by phone, by post, or online, during which time I've taken out four mortgages, changed primary bank twice; opened and closed multiple secondary current accounts, savings accounts, and credit cards; taken out and moved pensions, ISAs, life insurance, and a range of other financial products.

My life has been much better for not needing to see the inside of a bank for over a quarter of a century - not least as they're only open when it's not convenient for me to visit.

For those that struggle with technology or phones, branches are a lifeline, but for most of the rest of the population I fail to see the attraction!
  • I used to use my local bank about once a fortnight.  It closed so I swopped banks, that one closed; so did all the others in the two towns nearest to me.  That is two branches of Nat West, one of HSBC, one of Lloyds, one of Barclays.  I moved to a HSBC in a larger town a bit further away, that closed.  The reason I havent used a local branch is that there arent any now.  I would use one approx. once a fortnight if there were any.
  • I use my bank weekly - actually the Post Office - to pay into my Lloyds and Barclays accounts.
Barclays, here, closed down several years ago, Lloyds i choose to avoid because of the ***** staff in there, the P O staff couldn't be more pleasant if they tried - hugely different !
