Matching paint to feature wall wallpaper

Would be grateful if anybody could share their opinions on our dilemma.
I have put up a flowery wallpaper (attached) to cover our feature wall in the living room. It's background is an off-white but the theme in our living room is purple from the wallpaper
(rug, ornaments, main picture etc).
I want the living room to be light but can't contemplate a purple, pink or sage green on the remaining walls.
Could anybody recommend a good paint - white with something in it? - so we can get on with it. White seems so boring and uninspiring!!
Thanks
Leighton

Have a look at the Frenchic range, they've just added many more colours. You might like crushed velvet, or dusky blush?£216 saved 24 October 20141

I would go for a white with maybe a pinkish tinge. I love the paper, where did you get it?0

You could take a piece of the wallpaper into one of the DIY chains that do paint colouring and get them to make a paint that matches exactly the wallpaper background colour.2

That's what I'd do. Or something in the roses.carly said:You could take a piece of the wallpaper into one of the DIY chains that do paint colouring and get them to make a paint that matches exactly the wallpaper background colour.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I quite like the soft blue in the flower (but appreciate it might not go with your purple).Something like a soft wedge wood blue.0

I used to use Soft White by Berger. While it's no longer available as such I've also got a soft white in a milti surface paint so it should still be around.
Just slightly off white would go with the cream.
BUT be sure to get some samples to use on the wall. The perfect match in a shop can change drastically depending on the direction of the room. North or east can give a greyishh tinge or deepen some colours.
Take it from someone who had to repaint a 17ft room with 6 window bay and panel door. Undercoat and gloss. I'll never do anything again without samples now.
Hint of pink turned bubble gum in the bathroom
Love the paper. If you want any colour use a very light version one in the flowers.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!
