Hi
Where do I stand with Quidco offering 37.5% cashback on a holiday with "onthebeach" and then after I've booked the holiday Quidco say it was a mistake and put it down to 1%.
Which is a big difference on a holiday that is costing over £3000. They've emailed saying sorry and given me £10 compensation and upped the cashback to 1.5%.
Should i demand more or are they in their rights to do this.
regards Clive

37.5% is blatantly a mistake when it’s usually much less for holidays - I think you’d have a hard time convincing a judge you had no clue it was a mistake.Check the Ts and Cs but I’m sure they’ll have covered themselves for mistakes.0

Of course it's a mistake. Have you ever heard of that sort of huge cashback?0

On the Quidco home page there is an offer for 25%, another for £1150 plus 2 offers for 80%, it isn't for the consumer to understand how cashback works via affiliate programs nor understand that the proportions vary depending upon the market the supplier is in.user1977 said:Of course it's a mistake. The 25% offer is for Currys and given the very low margins in retail that seems incredibly generous at face value.
That said cashback is unregulated and other than squeezing more goodwill out of Quidco or trying your luck with small claims I don't think there is much that can be done.

I would take the £10 offer.
End of the day there is no guarantee that you would get the cashback. Onthebeach could decline it.
Like any company that makes a genuine error they are allowed to correct it.Life in the slow lane0 -
Cashback is never guaranteed and purchases should never be made on the basis of cashback alone. Take the £10!
