On 18 April 22 bought a return flight (on skyscanner I think) to Thailand, flying outbound from Heathrow on 18 May 22. Initially I wasnt aware that Travelgenio were agents but thought Thai Airways were offering this sale. I diligently completed the purchase using my exact name details and paid them £687.95 using my credit card.
Within minutes I had a confirmation email from Travelgenio showing e-tickets and some reference numbers. I could see that the name on the ticket was missing my middle name and tried in vain to contact Travelgenio and Thai Airlines to check and rectify the details. I couldnt get a message to the agents or Thai Airways using any given reference numbers as they failed to recognise the ticket info. I thought that I may have been scammed and started looked at various blogs to get in touch with either of them using undisclosed contact details and eventually after about 3 days I got a reply from Travelgenio and surprisingly Thai Airlines almost simultaneously. My name details were incorrect on the ticket, having missed out not only my middle name but also my title and contact details. It was a mess and the airline just referred me to the agents for editing. Travelgenio said that they couldnt change/edit the ticket but said they would sent a message to the airline to confirm my identity and thereby hopefully allowing me to fly using those tickets BUT couldnt guarantee it as Thai Airline had the right to deny boarding etc. Believe me when I say I was sent back and forth between agent and airline when attempting to sort this out but couldnt get them to simply edit my name.
Eventually I was forced to buy another seat on the flight this time using Expedia and had absolutely no problems just using exactly the same process of entering my details. I now had two bookings on the flight and Thai Airways asked me to cancel one. I knew that if I cancelled then they may say I decided this so I asked them to choose which booking they wanted to accept. They then cancelled the initial booking and referred me to the agents for a refund. Travelgenio agreed my refund minus about £50 administration but later refused any refund. I am now attempting to get my money back via credit card company.
Has anyone any similar experience with a situation like this who could give me sensible advice

As you have already instigated a chargeback or Section 75 claim with your CC there’s nothing more you can do . Their decision will be based on whether Travelgenio have breached their contract with you .

Having experienced issues booking through Travelgenio why did you make another booking for the same flight using a third party (Experian ) again ?

The sensible advice is don’t book with a third party - book directly with the airline. As you have found out already it’s much easier to sort out any issues directly with the airline than through a third party.

Also this thread is on the wrong board as it’s not related to Coronavirus Travel.
