Company Car vs Car Allowance

Hi,

I'm applying for an internal post, and it mentions company car or car allowance.

Can someone explain to me how this works please? And which is better?

My personal car is over 6yrs of age , with over 70k miles on. I have been thinking of changing my car of late anyway.

Is it a salary sacrifice car scheme? Would you be looking at an all electric vehicle?
