Cheap underwater digital camera

Hi - I have seen on a few websites a cheap underwater digital camera. It is made by mayhem I think and has precision written on the front. One site which has it is urban junkie http://www.urbanjunkie.co.uk/product.php/272/0/underwater-digital-camera
I wondered if anyone has used one of these and could tell me about it? I am looking for a cheap digital camera for my daughter. I want to know how big the lcd screen is and if it takes reasonable pictures or is just too poor quality. Any advice would be great.
Thanks
Ali

that's carp mate - doesn't even seem to take additional memory cards and is vvv low res.
For a proper underwater camera (not just splash proof) you're going to be paying ALOT. If it's more for the rugged factor Olympus do a good one that is splash (ie dunk it underwater) and knock proof.0 -
Pentax do a great range of underwater cameras, only go down a couple of metres so more for swimming / snorkeling than scuba diving.
Latest one is W30 which is probably too much at around £140 but this is the 4th version, so maybe see if you can find an earlier one going cheap - WP, W10, W200 -
Why not get a decent normal camera and buy a waterproof housing/case for it, all good photographic companies do these... Try Jacobs: http://www.jacobsdigital.co.uk/index.php?thequery=underwater
However you'll be looking at a lot more than you probably want to spend!0 -
my thinking too: http://www.aquapac.net/ukstore/erol.html#1X00

How about this https://secure.fujifilm.co.uk/shop/consumer/digital/clearance-corner/finepix-a400-camera-underwater-housing-16757
4 Mpixel water proof to 3 m for £800 -
I'm also on this quest. Will be heading out on a family holiday to Mexico (Cozumel) in about 3 weeks.
Need waterproof camera for splashing in water, snorkelling etc.
Options so far include
- Kodak Sport disposeable (800 ASA) ~ £18 - but no flash (is this only needed for scuba?)
- cheap reuseable "Snapsights SS01" appears everywhere as low as £17
- Fuji A400 4mp digital ~ £70 clearance
- Olympus mju digital range at around £170
Assuming I need ~72 shots, ~ £2 a film (36) and ~£5 developing that means the disposeable comes out at £33, the cheap 35mm at £37, with the other options more than double.
Sounds fair? Any other recommended options?
DO I need a flash do you think? (I have another proper digital camera)What goes around - comes around
give lots and you will always recieve lots0 -
If you want cheap try Lidl http://www.lidl.co.uk/uk/home.nsf/pages/c.o.20080501.p.Underwater_Camera.ar9?OpenDocument&resetFilialDaten=1&id=850&zipcode=LL11%204AP&city=Denbighshire&city2=Gwersylt&street=Mold%20Road&ar=9&EMID=09500E30CQU56A2JE6QVS018RTU96My opinions are purely my own act on them at your own risk :think:0
