New Gas / Electricity supplier

Hello all,
just looked at energy suppliers as my parents' one is ending at the end of next month.
Unfortunately not much around, but EON have a fixed rate for a year (no exit fees) for £86. Parents were currently paying £35 (with EON)
Does £86 seems reasonable?
Annual usage is as follows:
Elec: 1906
Gas: 467
thank you in advance

Is the gas perhaps a unit reading from the meter ? Can you read the meter itself and look for ft3 or m3 ?
What do the bills say - and are those readings Estimated or Actual ?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill1 -

those are the estimates from EON on annual consumption. Slight error on my part on the Electricity. It should read 19310 -
Time to do your own figures please
Read the meters today please and also look back about 12 months and find some bills with Actual readings on them - definitely not E.

They don't offer you a fixed rate for £86, they are estimating a direct debit of £86 for the fixed tariff they are offering, of your parents use more energy than they estimate they will be billed more.
Going from the estimated usage and ball park figures for the SVT of 28p electricity and 40p standing charges, plus 0.07p gas with 25 standing charges I calculate £810 per year and £68 per month on current SVT.
The offered £86pm, would be 26.5% more expensive, so not that bad.
But that is a lot of guess work, what is the real usage that has been asked for real SVT ratesm and what are the details of the offered fixed tariff?0 -
Do your parents have some kind of wood burner with back boiler for hot water or do they just never have a bath?Barnsley, South Yorkshire
